Made a phone call tonight. Station Manager is happy to have us but reckons I should have a look first cause it is pretty steep and loose. Sounds like a bit of fun

I'd be interested in tagging along for the pre-run, work roster allowing.
The new section you pm'd me about sounds really good, lots of trails up there to explore!
Would be keen on camping up in the back blocks, maybe Hut Creek?? No Brokeback mountain stuff though!

Sitting here contemplating re stacking the fire wood and noticed this thread had risen to the top. Working on the DB1k route sounds much more interesting.

Hore all you guys down there are OK? Have friends who farm in Hororata and they have a real mess to clear up - makes staching wood sound easy. Would be keen to join the pre-run wheneverit is - sounds like south has won???
    Cheers

Yer stacking firewood is a minor but shows how minor it got for us. Glad we live in a late 60's house.

Re the pre run it is not like a normal ride cause i have to stop every few km to make notes. It is a very slow ride by normal standards, We really need to stick with a small group otherwise we might as well not go together. I want the group to be no more than bro, me and a couple of good mates who appreciate what its about.

    Cheers R

That has yet to be decided but it will not be a reversal of any of the 2 existing routes, it will be more likely a change to one of the routes which may or may not involve some reversal by the sound of it.

Will most likely be a southern route with new bits, reverses of 2010 bits and some bits the same way. All in all the route will feel significantly different and yet be in the same general area as the 2010 route.

Yes you did, but don't worry I've just folded time to let you have another go of it.
Don't ask me the details of what we did though as with Dr Who... no spoilers.

I know what you mean and if R ever re reads his post he should realise his miss type.
