Another decent one then. I can almost remember every earthquake I've experienced, and now I can honestly say that number has been multiplied 20x over by what we've been through in the last few days. And we probably won't notice they have finished until it's been long gone.

Must be fucken scary. I would like to say its going to get better - but its not. Past history has told us that you should expect a 6 pointer in the next few days.
So prepare for worst and hang in there.

You can hear the bastards coming out here

We've been getting them on average about every 15mins or so and only over the last day have they started to decline a bit.

Where we are, St Albans, we can just feel the 3's, the 4's shake things about, and the 5's threaten to knock stuff over again. It's easy to miss the 3's.

Just been & visited TWR - nice jolt when I was there - as he said you can generally hear them coming out here...I guessed 4.3 - getting good at it now.
The one in ChCh this morning which did so much damage we hardly felt out here. It came at the city at right angles to the others which is probably why areas which had been ok now report damage.
A builder has had a quick look at our big internal chimney -qualified ok - for the moment.
Problem with these old places out here - they built the chimney first and hung the house off it.
Another four plus with epicentre under us today - I'm sure now it's personal...
My wife was waiting to get in J Key's ear - I think someone warned him....but there were a large number of media all tapping keyboards as they sipped latte's at the Hororata Cafe (advert)
At least one local business is doing ok...

Yay I've got water The house has moved away from the water mains and broken the PVC pipe. For now I have a piece of Toyota radiator hose and some hose clamps joining it all up again. That'll do until a plumber turns up to make a proper repair.

Good to catch up even considering the circumstances
That wee trembler & the likes are getting truely lodged in the nuisence catagory now.
Seeing the reaction of the others at work this morning was interesting though, really shows the effect on peoples wellbeing now, there's definately some frayed nerves out there & understandbly so
Driving home from town I came up Telegraph Rd and crossed the fault line and it's rather the road has been shifted completely one lane across, almost defies belief when only a few days ago it was gun barrel straight. And seeing the next property along the road looking like it's been blown apart

Well that aftershock this morning was really bad. There's people crying and shaking and just freaking out and getting really really scared it's quite hard to watch. The quakes are definitely taking their toll on the people in Christchurch, the worst part is not knowing when it's going to hit or how long before it all ends. I don't have kids but the people I know who do are fucking stressed, they're scared shitless while still trying to take care of their children who are pretty much traumatised by the whole ordeal. As time goes on the aftershocks get more and more stressfull for everyone, the news really doesn't do it justice there is a huge amount of tension in chch atm, even if people are safe they're scared fucking shitless.

Water restrictions lifted in some areas...
    http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/cant...ictions-lifted

LATEST: Water in Christchurch no longer needs to be boiled, authorities have announced, after tests revealed no bacterial contamination.

The Emergency Operations Centre this evening lifted its boil-water notice for Christchurch city, including Banks Peninsula. ......
That's not everyone though I'm sure.
