I had three broken off inside. Had to drill and ezyout them. It had flogged the pulley as well so had to source a new one, machined the wheel as well. Bit of a major really all in all. The bolts are lock tighted in as well so any breakage and subsequant removal can be frought with a little danger.(broken ezyouts).![]()

Hey guys I just got a new 09 Xb12ss and want to join up to the riders club too.
I'm in Wellington and I also design websites so if the site needs to get back online I could do that pretty easily.
Could someone give me some contact details for more info?
Cheers,
Hamish
damn thats one nice bike...
is it a 2010 0km bike???
I've owned several buells and still have a '07 xb12r and recently sold my '06 xb12ss long.
I would call buell ownership an experience rather than a pleasure. They're fun-ish to ride though.
If you enjoy talking to random people that come up to you in the street where your bike is parked and try to start conversations with you, the buell is second best only to something like an old bsa or matchless or something.
The new rotax engined ones look like they're made of offal, the exhaust looks like a distended stomach and the rad scoops look like kidneys. Who designed the thing? A butcher? The welding looks like someone squeezed it out of a cat.

Really don't understand why you continue to own a Buell if this is the way you feel about them...oh well...
I currently own 3 Buells and have been a Buell owner rider for 10 years, infact last week was my 10 year anniversary of my lust affair with my beloved X1 Lightning and also was the 1 year anniversary of my latest love...the CR.
As far as the CR (affectionately called "The Black") is concerned, yea I am not that fussed on the radiator pods but it all pales into nothing when I ride it. AJ and I demo-ed the CR and had to buy it, it was that blimmin orgasmic to ride. We actually bought the demo cos we were the first customers to ride it and we wanted THAT bike LOL. I have demo-ed a lot of bikes over the years and the only other time I have ever demo-ed one and said "well bugger me I gotta own that" is with my X1.
Actually when I first looked at the X1 I thought it was pretty fugly but the sheer bliss of riding it changed that. And of course now its so customised that its a thing of utter beauty LOL.
BTW got some customising plans for the CR as well...why? cos its a keeper.
To me riding a Buell is just about the most fun you can have with your clothes still on.
I have tried other brands and the only one that comes close to the total "yee ha this is awesome fun" factor is the Triumph Speed Triple.
And just gotta post this link I got sent yesterday...hope its not already on here

The sheer determination and PASSION of Erik Buell inspires me, I have so much respect for the man. I have heard him speak in another interview where he says he is humbled by the huge support of Buell riders worldwide. His way of saying thanks is to give us a new street bike. GO ERIK!
I swore he would never give up and I was right!
BTW I am the proud owner of a cool EBR supporters T-shirt that has 2 words on it that sum things up nicely.
NEVER QUIT!
I am so proud to be a Buell rider.hell yea!

1125R with Drummer exhaust... nothing special. (tested at EBR)
same 1125R with a custom RT-4 (tested at EBR)

Stop it!!!!!!
You big tease LOL
Already had the can gutted, that sorted out the sound LOL.
As for more torque and HP??? Yes well of course thats a big necessity cos it lacks so much hahahahahahahahaha
seriously tho, you can never have enuf ponies eh? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
But unfortunately the priority at the mo is to get something welded onto the sidestand so that I can reach it. Having to put it up and then swing my leg over, dodgy.
Then next on the list is getting the seat carved so that I can touch the ground with more than a toe...
