I'm wanting to get Schmidtty over to mot so Taz (that lil devil) can ride it on Sat & we don't waste time in the morning.
Can anyone help me get back if I ride it over there - or is someone coming over by car between now & then that can ride it back & store it for him?

You guys still keen on Sat? I'm going rain or shine - gotta get some riding time in as I've been missing it.

Going to be a bit wet for Sat methinks...

Dodgy river crossings and the goldfield is a clay base isn't it?

I'm keen... must go riding! However the weather doesn't look the best (not atrocious either) and the tides will be against us.

Still doable, methinks - not expecting to cross Big River anyway, need to check tide tables for the others. We can ride all the way to the Anatori regardless, and get on to the beach at a few points even if tides preclude linking it all up.

[Edit: Whanganui Inlet low tide on Sat is 12:36pm, -0.80m... about 1.2m higher than a king low tide... eep!]
    Cheers,
    Colin

I can give you a ride home either Thursday or friday, and you can leave Schmidt at work if you want.

May just make this ride yet, what time you leaving etc??

Weather is looking disgusting as I type this & the forecast for tomm is heavy rain & general shittiness over Golden Bay.
What say we give the big ride tomm a raincheck & do something else this side of the hill. I'm thinking do a bit of the usual Rosedale ish gravel roads & stop for a coffee somewhere?

Unless of course it turns beautifully sunny in the meantime

Possibly not a bad idea. I was taking the bike over to work tomorrow to open up then was planning on leaving at 9.30 - 10 depending on yous fullas start time etc. Still keen for a ride though so someone make a decision and I will tag along. After today I need to clear me head.

Did Taj make it on the SR?

    Is Schmidt roadworthy?

Taz is here & in Mot. Schmidt has a WOF

I was gonna see what the morning held & make a decision. I have to take scmidt over to Mot to pick up TAz & then come back here to get Gonzo going. I wasn't planning on an early start due to the possibility of the weather being as bad as today - Had visions of the failed ride to Kaikoura in my head.

What about we see what happens in the morning aye?

Better not make it to early, I need to get to the engineers to pick up a piece of the Big before I go anywhere
I could always chuck Taz on the back of the big and bring him over, depending on time

    Morning Gents
I hope everyone is feeling chipper.
If anyone or everyone still wants to ride I suggest we head off from town at 10.30am & either meander over the Rosedale circuit or somewhere else. A stop somewhere warm for coffee is def a must.
Jatz was going up to Canaan to see some snow brrr if we weren't doing anything.
I'm waiting to hear from Taz so we can get a bike arranged, but if organise for us to meet at the Mobil Richmond at say 10.45 & discuss options? How does that sound? Anyone else still in?
