I have a special socket wrench you can borrow or just hammer a sharp screwdriiver through it and unwind it with that.

    Is this a maintenance thred????????????????

I needed to get that out!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oil...................... As Flip will tell you modern bikes which have their oil lubricate the engine as well as the clutch and gearbox are exceedingly hard on their oil!!!!!!!!!!!

I change the oil and filter at about half the recomended distance. Filters are cheap, I change mine each time I do the oil, false economy not to. At the moment I'm using a semi sinthetic 10/40 grade. During the warmer weather I will be running a heavier grade straight mineral oil.

    Totally confused yet??????????

Unlike some I have found Budget to be good to deal with.
And remember ...... if it hasn't got one of "Uncle Flip's" prosthetic kickers it isn't a real motorbike!!!

So I'm assuming its a spin on filter, if it is a leather belt wrapped around it works good to unscrew them, or in the case of the wife's golf the other night a roof rack tie with a bit of bike inner tube over it.

Anyhoo, sorry to drag this thread back on topic, but are we still going to akaroa tomorrow? If we are I probably should adjust my mufflers to their ''up" position as I might be tempted to have some fun on my new toy.

Terribly sorry your honour, just trying to figure out where I need to be about lunch time tomorrow.

I think the new black beast needs a good thrashing and scraping around some corners, so Akaroa sounds like just the ticket. Got to get rid of those chicken strips somehow.

No need to apologise. And yes I'm sure most of us loved it.

See you all later this morning at BK.

All good, Neil and bike road to the horspiddle cos Louise is a lazy lass and flew in the westpac chopper with a treadly rider that tried imertating a hedge hog in the middle of the road.
Nothing broken but she will no doubt be hobling for a while and Neil will be ducking the flack (car and trailer U turned on em) So Im asuming at this point Louise is sinking back some liquid pain killers...

ps: Carl, watch how you word such posts as I had a few panic calls, your opening line leads astray.
    cheers DD

Well, interesting end to the ride.

Thankfully nothing broken, off to the hospital and much waiting around for xrays etc, in the end a badly bruised foot and leg. Fortunate that it happened where there were already volunteer firemen and paramedics, and a rescue helicopter on route.

Big thank you to everybody for stopping and lending a hand, and holding her hand while I talked to the nice policeman, mrs neels apologies for all the screaming but she couldn't help it because it really really fucking hurt.

Ta for sorting out gear to go in the chopper, the escort back into the hospital, couldn't find your blanket Flip so I'll pop into the chopper base on monday and see if it's floating around there somewhere.

So glad that Louise is ok. Fjrider and me were stuck on the other side of the cyclist accident. We heard the chopper but had no idea that there had been another accident. My cell phone went flat on the ride out there (Murphys fucking law!!) so when we could ride back we were very sad to hear what happened!!. Neil do you have a perminant set of finger nail holes in your back??
