I used to be like that, but now I haven't exceeded the speed limit since . . . well, since I got home yesterday afternoon. Well, I currently have no demerits on my licence so obviously I have stopped . . . getting caught, so far at least.
My advice on not getting done for speeding: do what I've been doing for the last couple of years - be lucky!
Yes, but if you are referring to "the ultimate price", then according to the law then that is the same whether you are doing 105km/h or 205 km/h, or even 54 km/h in some places.
I abide by not riding faster than my guardian angel can fly, I also stick to the rules as much as possible, but occasionally find myself going a little over the red ringed number.
Keep on chooglin'
You lose your licence if you are caught exceeding any posted speed limit by more than 40 km/hr ... This includes temporary speed limit areas such as roadworks zones. AND passing school buses that have stopped to pick up/drop off passengers (20 km/hr speed limit passing them) so in effect ... you can lose your licence (for speeding) by exceeding 60 km/hr on the open road in a 100 km/hr area ...
If ya gunna "thang it" look and KEEP looking ... and odds are ... you still wont see them untill the disco lights come on ...
By all means be a "prat" ... it gives them all the more reasons to look for "things" they didn't stop you for...
Discretion is still up to the officer ... and depending on many factors relating to the offence you were stopped for ... may be applied .... just don't be a "prat" ... for the reason above ...
Groups of bikes safe ...: Good luck with that. I have been on "group rides" when all riders were stopped, lectured ... and issued a ticket ... officers "descretion" applies ...
Wife's wrath ... don't worry .... you have six months to get used to it ... if she hangs around that long ...
Be nice to your kids .... they may come in handy in your old age ... if you live that long ...
Life is seldom "fair" ... get over it ...![]()
When life throws you a curve ... Lean into it ...
it happens though , doing a runner can cost dearly . i have done it myself , got away to tell the tale ,easy 100 in a 50 kph area , just luck he was on other side of road and there was a long bend between me and two turn offs so he was blind sided , heard him cane it down the road after me whilst i sat silent with fingers crossed down side street . get in big doodoo's if caught . knew area well , if not i would have just pulled over and taken the grief .

I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.
