sorry if this has been covered already but dont have reasonable access to internet or other info right now - long story short im in christchurch doing some work (glazing at lincoln uni), going home tomorrow morning. Im keen to look at buying some leather gear & other stuff while im here as the range in palmy isnt so great, are any of the shops here open after 4:30?

Give Budget Motorcycle Spares a ring on (03) 377 1881 and see what they have to say.

Don't know what type of gear you're after exactly but you could try some of the following, might pay to phone them to see if they've survived the earthquake though.

    Leather Image 3653007
    Leather Direct 3658065
Casbolts have a reasonable range of gear 3664401
Avon City Suzuki sell gear as well 3413490
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

was in Sportzone Suzuki on Manchester St on Saturday: they have some reasonably priced deals on helmets and some Alpinestars jackets.

Plus they've got the stock and staff from Street & Sport so you can ogle Triumphs as well.

Really? That's cool of them. Probably suits Tony down to the ground, he has said before he has too much space.

It is. Anyone know what Don at Pitlane is doing? If/where he is relocating?

I'm pretty sure most of them are open untill around 5:30. Manchester St in the central city has a few bike shops just before you get to Moorehouse Ave, you should have plenty of time to stop in at a few of them and pick out the best deals.

Edit: I'm not sure who's still open or not but at the least you can check out Sportzone Suzuki.

I was talking to the Street and Sport guys at Sportzone today. Street and Sport share the same building as Don. The building is fine but has been red stickered because the one next to it is dodgy and may be coming down. If/when that comes down their building may be effected also. Other than that, they don't know and aren't being kept informed by the council or whoever is running things.

RE shops still open - everyone except Street and Sport, Pitlane, and the Guzzi shop although as mention by others S&S are operating from Sportzone.
