Never rode on a s/car but raced solos for 15 or thereabouts years.

I guess the only advice I could offer is "trust the rider".

And stay on the bike cos they crash something awful if the swinger bails
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

My husband races a sidecar, you need to trust the rider and do what they say - as the swinger doing the wrong thing can cause a hell of a crash.
My husband finds the bike easier to control if the swinger lets go and bails during a crash - there was a nasty one a couple of years back with the swinger hanging on and cartwheeling with the bike. No injuries but looked horrific.

Been involved with speedway for a while strictly four wheels. Swang for 2 laps and never again. All I can reccommend is go to the gym and get a strong core and arms. Because you gota hang on and pull ya self back up constantly. My mate is a swinger and Gyms it everynight

I meant stay on as long as you can during racing - once the thing is crashing all bets are off...

(All advice offered on the basis of having watched, but never participated in s/c racing)

Yes - get fit and strong - definitely a hard work out!

You'll know you're doing it right when you've got tyre marks up the back of your leathers.

That works both ways, the rider needs to trust the swinger and listen to what they say as well or else you're both wasting each others time

Well obviously you need to trust each other. My point is that the swinger needs to do what the rider says, eg get up or get down etc.
Last time I saw a swinger doing the wrong thing, the result was a cracked sternum.
