You can learn more from a difficult 30 minute ride at a reasonable pace than weeks of carpark stuff... gotta put the theory stuff into practice on the road.
The session begins with a 30 minute ride.

The pattern in the old days used to be, noobs would do quite a few of the training nights, when their confidence was up a bit, they'd step up to the ATNR. Obviously the ATNR has died a quiet death so thats not the case anymore.

What im getting at, is being in a ride with lots of people much faster than you teaches you a lot - not only do you get to see lines etc.. (which arent all good) but you actually learn to ride your own ride - be it by trying to keep up with others beyong your comfort zone, and learning by screwing up, or learning the restraint not to do exactly that.

so after having been riding this afternoon, i went to fill up at westgate before heading home, and there was a group of bikers still there! so thought it would be rude not to go say hi before heading home for assignment... well 3.5 hours later i finally got home... its gonna be a late night to finish assignment that is due tomorrow! but good ride boys! good to catch up! i really am glad to have tagged along... just gonna regret the lack of sleep tomorrow! haha

It's all fine and dandy to ride with faster riders, but unless they want to help you get better they just dissapear into the distance.

I also think you are wrong as like a few others have no problem going fast but need all the help in the world when going slow.

Other than the failure to keep to the time schedue, which only matters if your the only one at Albany, the frame work of the night seems to please most people.

If you want longer, faster rides there are plenty to choose from. well at least two.

Now that we are back in DST I think it will pick up again. Although, the weather doesn't look particularly flash for this evening. Might just be straight to the pub again

Saturday morning ride on the 9th of october?

Hey everyone, just got back from a really nice ride out to Piha, and had coffee at the Piha Cafe....really nice atmosphere . Was thinking maybe we could get a few of us together who could be keen for a ride out there on Saturday morning for brunch then a cruise back? what do people think? Weather permitting of course, Scenic drive can be a bit perilous at the best of times .
