So you're going to run increased duty cycle on the injectors and adjust the injector and spark timing? I'd love to see the mapping on one and have a go too, do you have to re-flash the ECU? Or can you plug-play them?
I would ask them about it first in case (I know, it's a cool idea) it bites you in the arse when you start leaving Hyos behind on your own Hyo, down the straights![]()
The Heart is the drum keeping time for everyone....
I might just Bore my GT out to 300cc -as mnz havnt made the rules around my lack of riding ability.
If ( The operative word) he has any sort of advantage on the straight with an injected Hyo, unlikely as they had less power to start out with, it is possible to check via diagnostics and run some real time data to see if the engine is running factory specifications on the ECU side of things. Assuming of course they have a diagnostic port. If not, It could be checked to see if the ECU has been opened, re-flashed etc etc.
Not much point, I'd focus on getting tires and suspension set up correct and some practice....Get some more braking power, it may help.
Believe it or not but you dont know shit, from factory specifications the EFI hyo's have more power overal, and when coming out a corner the difference in power is noticable, considering you havnt ridden both like i have and and compared them your hardly in the place to comment.
What im planning to get done tommorow is a simple dyno run to see how the bike is running, if its too lean or rich ect, from there the guy from tripple zee cycles said you can work with the origional ECU, instead of using a Power Commander to tune the bike to its after market pipe.
AHHA yeah well ive done every thing to suspension that the rules allow, and im running sinthered brake pads up front, and Pirelli diablo super corsa's....so it handles pretty dam good.

Oh Maxxy maxxy where have you been? I missed you!!!!
Are they known to have fueling issues? I know the carburetor models were making a mighty 33hp/24rwhp on a good day and the injected ones are meant to be 28-29hp at the crank. As far as I know I haven't ridden the injected bike, but, nor do I have a want to do so unless purely to ride the old vs new back to back. Pull me up dyno results of w.h.y to show the injected model is gruntier and I'll be happy.
I'm glad to hear you have also done the suspension/brakes etc, just don't be the new Chaosrider.....
Well the EFI bikes dont actualy make more horse-power, BUT the way the power comes out of the bike is what you'd call "more responsive". Who told you the injected one are 28-29hp at the crank?.
Ive ridden both EFI one and CARBY oen at taupo, both with same tires, suspension set-up ect, and the difference is there...not down the straight but coming out of corners.
Even just listening to my EFI one next to kens carby one you'd side with me, cant wait to get the bike on the dyno, then we'll see i guess.

My mistake, most factory claims are 27-28hp sorry.
So it has more torque? Or just a nicer power delivery? I may go try find a place to let me ride them back to back, I'll ride yours, you can ride mine![]()

I'm not deliberately being a wanker, but I'd expect 23-25hp and some minor variations withing Dynos. Will be very interesting to see, I'm more interested to see the air/fuels and the power curve in comparison to a carb model.![]()
Okay,
This is what I have discovered....
Ninja 250R was leading the field by a long way, and holds the lap record for class at Manfeild - 1:31.250 (One Ben Oxham).
Put my body on it, and it is the same speed down the straights as the Carby Hyosungs. Fastest lap a 1:33.303?
Woodys EFI Hyosung is much quicker in all regards at the Ninja now.... Then he weighs about 1/2 of what I do.....
A 1988 GPX250 is much quicker than me, and has much more power, but still a little off the Class Lap record......
So, we (Okay, read I) could sit here all day on the net about the difference in a couple of HP, but at the end of the day, all I really have to do is loose weight, and ride faster...............
All that said, for those considering the class, I can say it is HUGE fun, and VERY close! We just need more bikes in it.
Give it a go people...
