    Got my new FXR 7000km

Got my hands on the FXR I purchased off trade me.... been sitting for 10years after a crash at 7000km.
$685 + half the transport cost $35... the bike was on Whaieke Island... not fair I pay for THAT!

Not quite what the seller said it would be....

    1) No ding in tank.. its perfect and not a spot of rust inside
    2) Oil looks ok... original oil ... dark brown and no sign of moisture
    3) all the body work is perfect
    4) Lots of rust on nuts and corrosion on aluminum stuff, the worst is the mirrors, rest is just surface corrosion.
    5) two keys and owners manual
    6) Forks, discs etc are rust free.

Got it home and removed the tank... flushed it out and all the tar like fuel was removed. Strip and clean fuel tap.
Decided that it was not even worth trying the carb...I added one I have.
I could not turn the throttle, rust on the bar end stopped it turning, file and CRC all OK.

Add new oil and battery... pull the choke and hit the starter button... about 20-30 seconds and it started and sounds great.
Idles perfectly and revs... not even a little bit of smoke.

    Dam... I am pleased.

Now what am I going to do with it...

Keep the motor as a spare and all the bits that are useful.
Colin is buying the rolling chassis, less wheels
Sell all the body work and wheels etc.

I should end up with a free motor and spares

Cant afford to build another bike... but having enough spares to keep one going free is all good.

Shock as oil on it and might be rooted... and it done FA work... if I can use it I will.
    Swap it with mine....

Colin is already moaning that I'm keeping all the good stuff and replacing it with my crap stuff... heeeee.. notice its turning BLUE... Blue tank still to come.

Oh to add... I tried my Igntec ignition on the bike as purchased and it ran fine... so they come pre programed.

It is just plug and play... dam good compnay.
they will not just seel you the ignition without asking heaps of question etc... when they are happy with what you are getting they send you an invoice.
