guys, about jackets, the problem is that you'll use a tech jacket only when you are going to ride, but you'll take the wallet or the mobile with you in a cage too.
so if you want to use jacket's pockets you'll have to put everything in before and take everything out after your ride.
i keep in the jacket only the stuff i use exclusively on the bike, as ear protectors and a little bag to keep the mobile phone sealed dry in case of rain, or a little road map.
but it's much more smart, to me, use a bum bag or something similar for all the stuff you have to keep with you everyday: it remains the same, on your waist when you ride, on the shoulder when you walk to work...
You're thinking of Givi luggage Genie... I use it. Waterproof, lockable, easily removable from bike (so for carrying gear when travelling, take the whole box into the motel room). It can carry much more than jacket pockets as well.
I don't like the idea of carrying much in the jacket or pants, because if you come off, the gear can make your injuries worse, ie, having something hard in a jacket pocket could put ribs at risk, when nothing in jacket, you're actually safer. The thought of having all that weight on a leg like that could also be uncomfortable...
Each to their own... I have a Givi top box on my bikes almost 100% of the time.

I have an old army bag - but replaced it with a club-logoed bag .. carry it on a small sports rack which fits into Ventura pack rack holders - hold it down with a small bungy-type cargo netting - swap it from bike to bike and car ... I hate things in my pockets so I don't use them ... The leg pocket looks like a good idea - but I'd never use it ...
My BMW dd. Right in the middle of the tank. It would hold a wallet, cigs and lighter, sunnies - and then only half full.
