Def weather dependent this time - there & back on same day. things start getting pretty hectic heading into Nov & Dec so it would fit in with me then.
Was thinking of heading down for the end of Nov open weekend, but we would do it over 2 days. Prolly camp in there somewhere and do both ends of the road at a liesurly pace
    Nice Vid Nordie. :

You are starting to sound like Mrs Woodman.

Actually I have a day off tomorrow and am sitting here wondering whether to go for a hoon somewhere or getting my new muffler welded on, or both, or just lay in the sun working on the perfect tan.

    Clarence sounds good. Togs???
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

Went for a ride up Hori bay today.

long story short, I missed a corner and went carreering (sic) over a big slopey bank with a vertical bank at the end. Couldn't ride back up or traverse but upon trying to ride up I flipped the KLR and it went down the slopey bit even further and was almost teetering on the edge of the bank.

I sad fcuk several times as the thought dawned on me that the only way out of this kafuffle was to throw the bike over the bank. Now i have no experience with this sort of thing so i decided to video it for future reference and possible training initiatives, and cos i know you guys just love this shit

Now sitting at home nursing a very swollen knee

I don't know you so won't be too flippant

Ice the knee heaps, at least 15 minutes every hour and rest it above your heart. If still swollen or worse tomorrow....doctor for you.

Thought that was how everyone parked their KLR's

Cheers, knee is quite swollen but I know this knee after years of aggravating it and it will be ok in a few days.

Because the wheels dug into the bank on the way down the bike landed in a completely inverted position. No damage except a broken mirror, and I think the handlebars and fairing are straighter than before, but I don't recommend parking this way

How many times have you been to Hori bay and not come off?
    Is the bike OK?

    Thanks for that Fran
The bike is fine, it stalled a few times coming out of Hori bay and wouldn't start, but it had cleared itself by the Whangas. Probarbly a fuel thing, or the fact that a heap of oil had made its way into the airbox. If I hadn't had the vapor the original instruments would have been toast, and the top of the fairing just bent out of the way upon impact.

Wish I could say the same for me, my knee is swollen up like a swollen knee and walking is not easy. My other leg is fairly bruised up too.

Oh well I was having most of next week off anyway

if you tried these stunts on a newer klr there would be a plastic explosion

do you wear decent knee guards?

if not have a look at the heavy duty Thor knee guards Nordie has - I wear a set whenever I ride and they have saved my knees on several occasions.

glad that you are ok (apart from knee)
