I think I would rather loose my wallet than my wife.

Seems to be the day for loosing things........

Excellent ride again this evening (even with the curtain of bugs - must remember to bring bug spray next time ). We really enjoyed the ride and company. Unfortunately we couldn't stay for a drink - but definately will next time.

lesson learnt never assume that freshly mowen grass is a flat surface.
I did a u turn onto the footpath, decided to ride up the nice flat looking grass verge,
only it was not flat, there was a 300mm high ridge, hidden under the nice flat mowen grass. The front wheel decided to turn the opp direction that I was moving ,,, very suddenly,
    Owch
on me bum , bike on side in the grass, me looking very sheepish.
One bent handle bar, bent front brake lever, bent rear signal lamp mount.
    All fixable.
    Bent pride...... bugger
So a slow ride home for me, front brake difficult to reach because of bent lever.
Other than that a really good ride, even though the bike was wollowing in the corners, front tyre pressues low I bet.
Will be there next week no worries.

Ask Donna aka kiwipheonix about the aged knight in a rusty tin suit that allowed her steed to fall over last night!!!!
And remember ...... if it hasn't got one of "Uncle Flip's" prosthetic kickers it isn't a real motorbike!!!

road surface good, but dusty, had to stop at traffic lights half way down.
ok in the dry, but I think with rain the volcanic dust on the road could turn very slippery, so even though it is open, and good to ride, I would be very wary of dampness making it dangerous for bikes.
I advise caution traveling it untill we have had several rains on it to wash away that dust

Yep, he dropped the "borrowed" bike!! the real owner being FJRider, I was only allowed a play on it, won't be out of the garage for a big run for a while, except for the wee trip to the shop and back!! You think FJ would know better than to leave his bike in my garage and leave the keys

I won't be along next week, have a fashion show prep to do, me being the model, this could be interesting! So have a great and safe ride guy!

Great ride to Akaroa, leaving early was definitely worthwhile.
