Obviously the scutineering is not gonna change but surely there is a better way
Considering this was the first club round at the track and it's a building site at the moment, AMCC did an amazing job to get through 2 lots of races given the weather an'all, so bloody well done AMCC! Looking forward to a dry one next time, although starting from pit lane in the wet for my first race was such good fun!

A suggestion to get the sign on / scrutineering done a bit quicker (it took me from 7.45 - 9.15 to get this all done!):
    1. Sign on, pick up transponder, get helmet checked.
    2. Get bike scrutineered and leave licence with scrutineers who then give the whole lot to the clerk of the coarse when they are done.
This would eliminate queing up twice and the attachment of the transponders can be checked by the scutineers. I do think scuteneering is very important and shouldn't be dropped, but also competitors should read the rules before turning up to the track

This is the reason for my post...
to put it out there that there could be a better way to do things, i knew it was the first round, i hope to be at the others..(sorry) get the teething troubles out of the way... then have a great rest of the season..

we had "issues" at our first round (vic club)this year, while we got up to speed
so AMC people please take these as a constructive posts... :

except for that gay guy who changes tyres... think he should get band..what a hand shake.. a dead fish is harder

    what a ride so far!!!!

Well I waited in line to be scrutineered for a good 20-25 min, to be then told I have to sign on first which was another 20-25 mins. I can't see an issue for getting the bike scrutineered first!.....at least ya can have yr tyre warmers on while you getting the sign-on/helmet check done. That would have saved a crap load of time.
    Fook Yeah!...Me Got DRZ400sm Now!

& still can't spell for shit!

To add to this if the PA system was working we couldn't hear it on Pitlane. Also maybe a coloured flag or sign to show which class was forming up on the dummy grid would also have helped.

Yeah there were some issues but so long as the sign-on process is sorted, it should be all good. It’s always been a breeze at Pukekohe, so I guess it really has to be put down to the crappy little room that they were doing it in, and the addition of having to sort out transponders for people.

But they still got through two rounds of racing, so things were clearly run very smoothly after the initial delay.

Shame about the off and on weather! I thought that Hampton was quite a nice surface when damp though!

    Thanks AMCC!

    Gidday All,
Thanks for the predominantly positive feedback... Yes, the meeting, it's originisation & running is a bit of a work in progress whilst the "New Team" find there feet - but all in all it seems you people took something positive away with you...

That in mind, we can only improve...

Please keep the feedback coming as we can only fix things that we are let know are broken

Feel free to PM me with your thoughts...

    Cheers

To finish first - first you must finish... Oh b.t.w, which way doe's Turn 1 go & whats the lap record...

no there was none at all done at the nats for all five rounds, they were more intrested in what tyres you were running in qualifying than tie wire

    Sidewinder,

You really sure on that? either:
    1) You weren't there at the HD national meeting....
    2) I was at the "other" National meeting at Pukekohe that did have scrutineering (I wish that was the acse as I fell off!)
    3) You rode without having your bike scrutineered...
    4) You are just wrong!

    take your pick!!

I've only ridden at HD twice and both times bikes were checked once was the nationals and once was the last weekend. Nationals were outside the buidling we used for sign on last weekend and helmets were done at same time.

Considering what a shambles the pit area is at the moment, being a construction site and all, things went ok. I do agree that the sign on/scrutineering needs to be tidied up but there's always gotcha's for the 1st time.

I know the PA system was working because once it rained I moved camp and ended up being directly underneath the PA so I didn't miss a thing all day. However, I'm not at all surprised people missed stuff. There only seemed to be the single speaker, it was a bit windy and there were about 50 generators running in a large paddock area.

I bloody well hope they've got something resembling pit garages with power next time. I farken hate generators.

For the next round at Hampton Downs (December) could we please offer a sacrifice to the weather gods?? A sidecar should do it, or maybe a bucket ..... haha.
