yeah there was some oil at turn 4...seemed to appear after the first couple of laps of the first sidecar race...the rain and track conditions where frustrating...with a dry practice and then wet races and then some dry races and then we finished with a heavy downpour...

as for the non stop racing.....we sort of had a break when the buckets went around.....

As I said earlier, it was a delay caused by previous circuit users. The oil was bought to the surface by the rain. Should AMCC have ignored the problem and sent riders out anyway???????? NO, because rider safety is paramount.

The event was late because of the ridiculous scruitineering.

Go wait in line for an hour to sign on, but you cant get your mechanic to take your bike to scruitineering until you have signed on so now go an wait to get your bike checked then go and line up to get your helmet checked. Then try get your tyres warm for first practice.

At scruitineering they check things like my wheels are done up so i asked if they would be re checking the bikes after every tyre change.... no.... It would be far less time consuming to do spot checks on helmets and bikes that also ensures safety over the whole day.

I was one of the scrutineers, and I'm glad we were checking all the bikes. I was somewhat surprised by number of bikes that we had to kick back for some pretty critical or obvious failings and by the number of riders who had never consulted the rule book on what they had to wire.

The queue would have been much shorter if we only had to check the bikes once...

I then had to go and sign on, and myself go through the scrutineering queues.

I agree it is important but it still needs to be sorted if you want to get in all the races. Its not done at the nationals or vic club. Maybe someone could do spot checks on the dummy grid, if your bikes no good you fix it or miss your race.

Personally I'm quite happy about the scrutineering. I think its all about your own timing and planning.
I've been a scrutineer and seen what some riders consider safe and track worthy and believe me you wouldn't want them lining up on the grid next to you and your sqillien dollar superbike!
I was at the track at 7am, unloaded and mostly set up at 7:30 ish.
In the que for scrutineering with only half a dozen bikes in front of me, bike was prepared as per rule book so flew through, helmet check was done in an instant, transponder picked up and yes there was a cue for the sign on but I put that down to the shed it was done in (no room to swing a cat).
There is always room for improvement and I'm sure the day will be de-briefed by the RRC and things improved on for next time. Considering the building site we all had to operate in and the weather we had to try and shelter from I'd give the day a big thumbs up.

Just think how pissed of we would be if below par bikes that weren't scrutineered got out on the circuit and fell apart or even..............dropped a heap of oil

It used to be all bikes were scrutineered at every event, no scrutineering is a fairly recent thing and I'm sure was done at both Hampton and Manfield for the Nationals

Any AMCC event be it National, club or ART event will have all bikes scrutineered.

We were there at 6.45. Somehow you managed to get your bike scrutineered before you signed on.....

Obviously the scutineering is not gonna change but surely there is a better way
