SpikedPunch and I checked this out this afternoon. Pretty cool track, some pretty big air in places too!

Big police presence, lots of people, mint weather, lots of things to look at. Free too! Even the parking seemed to be free which was impressive.

I didn't mention names, but I guess it wouldn't be hard to work out who it was.

A pretty cool event to have on the city. Even convenient bike parking if you look nicely at the gate-keepers nicely (from under your full-face lid). Targa Rally pits, anyone?

Big ups to Manukau council for allowing it & long may this kind of thing continue under the new-fangled SuperCity thingummy. Well done to the racers & marshals & organisers & such for putting on a great show - all for no money from the punters.

Wandered around the display cars, Targa cars, Yank Classics, Harleys, Speedway stuff on their own (mini?) track, RC cars out the side, some tarmac-based race-cars out there too. Loads of different kinds of food, bouncy-castle for the kids where mum & dad could watch the MX. Some places would charge you $20 to get in.... Course, cars were parked all over the show cos of the Targa Rally guys using one as their pits.

    Same again next year?

Well, i enjoyed the ride on Sunday, and thought the track was pretty good (the fourth gear jump was awesome). Well done to Carl Sorenson for putting a bit of everything in there.

Although, i was sitting on my trailer thinking about how i would have veiwed the event as a general public and thought that the spectators could have had a better fenced area to allow them to see more of the track (i did view the racing from the other side of the fence at one stage). I think a container jump could allow spectators to move to the infeild for a better view maybe. And i dont know how much of the 4wds spectators would have seen, they were a fair distance from the fencing.

But good event, lets hope it continues

Bloody good event, good atmosphere, great exposure to the public, good track, well run and it was cool having the Targa and car show etc there.

I left early, who won the feature races? Fogarty looked on form

Would have to agree, as a spectator on the other side of the fence it was crap, motorcross is an event where as a spectator you move around, its what makes it interesting for the average joe blog and his family who would otherwise never go to a MX event, I guess its all about safety, but at least another couple of fenced of spectator points would have been nice.
Once the riders disappear over the hill they gone for like 30seconds or so.

Today, thanks to clmintie I managed to get on the inside of the fence cheers mate.

    Mate you went well

If they do this again next year, I recon they should do an Endro Cross event maybe a trials event,

spectator friendly, and MX its all about promoting the sports isn't it.
