Your attitude is the problem. Dont try and enforce your values on me, its not wanted. Dont stereotype me when you dont know me, its not wanted. Meat does not come in white packets from the supermarket. Hunters work hard to get their meat and show a bit more resepect than joe bloggs who says they are cruel and unnecessary while munching on his cow that has been bread to die. you cant take the moral high ground.
Have you got shell shock? Or maybe you have burnt retinas from years of spotlighting for campers? All sidecarbob has asked is, can somebody explain to him what the attraction to hunting is.

You are stereotyping yourself with your own ramblings about where meat comes from.

    Thankyou fanny.
If someone asked me what the buzz is about sidecar racing, id probably fill 109 posts myself with anecdotes about the thrill of it all, rather than explain that bolts & nuts come in plastic bags & steel comes from ore & the wheels are specially made & suggest that people are stupid for not knowing that.

Oh please, stereotyping???you have just done that yourself with the 'spotlighting for campers' statement. And you ask why most of us can't be bothered with reply's when we get bullshit like that rammed down our throats.
He was never simply asking a question!
What ever the attraction may be, it will never satisfy the "hunting is for head cases" brigade.
    Trumpydom!

Although I haven't the slightest interest in hunting the thread title was never intended to suggest that all gun owners are dumb fucks.

The thread is about when dumb fucks go loose with guns.

Anyone remember the snippet on the news a while ago of the duck shooters going nuts while on the piss?

Yes you are correct, I was stereotyping, and yet again your answer confirms why.

    I'll give an honest answer.

I grew up hunting waterfowl in the wetlands, I dislike the taste and never ate it, but continued to shoot them. What was the attraction? Because it was fun, end of story.

When someone walks up to me and says 'So you enjoy hunting? What do you like about your hunting, the outdoors or the stalking part or..." and sounds like they actually interested rather than judgmental, i may take the time to be bothered.
If they come at me with the "hunters are all head cases" shit then i can't be bothered.
    Go analyse that answer!

Even like you sound like a bit of a headcase, I would like to know what you enjoy about hunting, and I think Bob would too.

    And there it is!!!

People got annoyed becuase I gave them a terse reply. Ohhhhh diddums. Dont ask a a question in a provocative fashion and dont call hunters head cases and you might actually get a more sincere answer.

I like being outdoors, I like putting my smarts against an animals senses. I like the satisfaction of knowing I went out and worked to get my meal instead of relying on somthing that was bred to die. I liek exploring the bush and learning about my quarry.

It's quite simple; he didn't respect his prey. If he did, he would have wanted to kill it, not risk maiming it, and to do that requires taking aim only at parts of the animal that will ensure death.

He wasn't a hunter, he was a murderer, and he murdered that woman. End of story.
