My thoughts exactly, and then when you tie it in with the cars going the other way flashing their headlights because they want an idiot on a bike to slow down from his supersonic speed while they are out enjoying the public holiday with there families and this guy on the bike is putting them at risk....

    That'll work for ya. NOT.

Perhaps your attitude isn't as pleasant as you think it is...?

Nup, I'd pretty much garauntee it was impeccable... My theory/observation though(after my last few stops) is that there was never any real possibility they were going to wave the penalty though and that they simply appreciated someone being pleasant and courteous while they simply went about their Job.

    How dare they huh ?

Therein lies the problem. YOU think it was impeccable....

Conversation overhead in court - "I was behaving myself, your honour. I only spat at him and called him a cunt 16 times..."

What problem ? I get your point that people have different perspectives on things but... Were you there ? You seem intent on suggesting that I wasnt well behaved and I therefore didnt have a chance of getting off but I cant figure out your motivation for it.

Im just a little puzzled as I dont have a problem with any of the tickets I received as they were all valid (IE I did what they said I did). All Im suggesting is that from now on (And my OP may have been badly worded and given a slightly different impression than I intended) I will keep conversation to the minimum, answer when questioned and generally be polite, but will no longer smile, laugh and pretend to be generally happy about getting ticketed.

Hell, I dont ring up the IRD and thenk em for taxing me either, Some jobs are just thankless I Guess.

Perhaps poorly worded in my post - funny how things get lost in the interpretation when done on the keyboard..... I wasn't suggesting you were anything. My suggestion was, as you correctly spotted, people have different perspectives.... Nothing more, nothing less, nothing personal....

Most folk end up saying "Thank you..." or, "I would say thanks, but... you know what I mean...." when given a ticket for whatever... A funny world we live in....

I have been let of a big fine before (speeding) in the car on the way home from work late in the rain. Couldn't believe my luck because I really would of struggled to pay it at the time, and pulled my head in afterwards as a result.

Before that also got let off parts off a fine (cop waived the not carrying license fee).

Both times I wasn't an ass with ridiculous excuses but didn't treat the copper like a hero or anything either.

Taken together, both of your posts suggest the following:
    1) You are a cop AND/OR
    2) You want KBers to think you are a cop AND/OR
    3) You are a practitioner of fellatio

In the later case, its not surprising you were thanked and had your hand shook when you had finished.
