I'm back in bike sales baby!

Pretty excited about it actually, after 5 years out of the industry I'm back doing what I'm passionate about, albeit only on Saturdays. It also means I'm likely to get a hoon on the R1 which is the first Yamaha I've liked the look of for a while and would possibly own

So all you Wellington riders who want to come say hi, I'm at TSS Red Baron in Lower Hutt.

Open 9 till 4 on Saturdays, come in and say hi.

this is an all to familure discussion.

    Ill finish it now.

7 day trading for a bike shop does not increase sales, it only spreads it out over 7 rather than 6 (or 5 and a half days), also, the staff don't want to work 7 days, and getting "weekend warriors" in to work weekends is a disaster, because then the customers complain the weekend staff don't know anything.

Its been tried, it does not work.

of it worked, every bike shop in NZ would do it.

Good on ya Jimmy. Good to see you back in bike sales and FINALLY selling a decent brand. Let me know what you think of the new YZF-R1

I agree wholeheartedly. 7 day trading in bike shops is far from cool, staff have lives and family too.

I'm pretty much, 100% certain that we'll be the only shop in the country keen to trade one of those

No - can't afford an "upgrade" yet.

But I would perhaps be in to buy gloves or something. And the wife is making noises about wanting to pillion, so maybe there'd be a full set of gear to buy soon.

I note the arguments posted above, but personally - due to my own job I've only really got Saturday and Sunday to "go shopping". So being open on only Saturday cuts out 50% of my time to vist TSS - which is my current "preferred" M/C shop.

(Working in Wellington, if I want something Monday to Friday - I usually end up walking to Motorad or WMC).

...but yeah, not really expecting the shop to be open on Sunday, just making a poke-the-bear post #2.

I will be in soon for the next "big" service on my bike. Overhead cams and shims for valve adjustment are beyond my ability...
