Politicians with integrity & moral fortitude...

Im sure there is one or 2...
The point of this is to see who we think has a degree of integrity, not to slag them because of Party affiliations or sexual preferences .
Who do you trust on a moral level?

Ill nail my colours to the post first.....
    Jim Anderton

Despite my personal views, I was ended up voting for Sue Bradford at the last election - I was in direct opposition to the anti smacking bill, but I wouldn't vote labour and I thought National would be too harsh on the poor with the given economic conditions.

As it turns out I'm doing very well thanks to Mr Key and my conscience is clear.

I would have preferred to vote for another Green's candidate but as the question is about "integrity and moral fortitude" you can't deny Sue has it in spades.

And yes I know a vote for the Greens was a vote for labour but it was a vote for the lesser evil.

.... back in green and feeling great ....

....the mere fact that one aspires to be a politician should be a warning sign to all...never met a polly that has ideals that can be lived up to....whether its through just being chewed up by the machine or because they tire, weaken..take the easy way...i was naive enough once to trust the ones you liked....til they turn ...stab their constituents in the back...rather cynical , but thats what lots of years of observing them does to you....and like motorcyclists....its the percentage of arseholes in parliament who paint the negative pictures....there is also a huge difference between being a good politician and being a good statesman....we are severely lacking in those these days....used to like Jim....

Shouldn't this be in jokes and humour?

Can't think of any off hand.
Didn't Mark Twain say something along the lines of "All those who want to be politicians shouldn't be".

Yeah Bradford had integrity can't deny that.... Just a pity about her policy direction.
But I think her boss Jennette Fitzimonds is higher up there in the integrity stakes along with Anderton and Ron Marks.

Utterly no one in the ACT party would qualify as having any integrity though.

Guess Nandor should have stayed in then as all he wanted to do was get the hell out of there!

Bill English. Phil Goff. Yes, Sue Bradford. And Nandor. There are others, in fact I probably find it easier to pick the MPs I don't like.

This is NZ. Slightly larger than Sydney. We don't have a lot of ego driven politicians, nor do we have corrupt greedy ones. We are too small and the takings aren't large enough. Yes I know people will scream with rage about bottles of wine and overseas trips but compared with many developed nations, our pollies are amateurs.

Made drugs his crusade after losing a daughter to suicide. Peter Dunn co jockeys the same wagon but for good christian sensibilities.

What about the other end of the scale, MP's like Chris Carter. He is a westie I suppose, should write him in to Outrages Fortune.

I'm not taking the piss here, but you don't have to be an MP to crusade against drugs or suicide.

He is the longest serving MP and I am struggling to remember anything he's actually done.
