How many "international" meetings you seen outside asia recently.

    Diametrically opposed paths concurrently

Did anyone see this weeks copy of the Christchurch Buy, Sell & Exchange? There was a big page stating how the NZ government is going to give the Maoris more land rights, is there any truth to that? You'd have to see that ad to understand what I mean.
More land rights than what ? Than who ?

My Grandfather, who was of Scottish and Whanganui Iwi descent was wounded on the beaches of Gallipoli on the first day of landing ... and evacuated to France - He recovered and served in many of the battles in France in WWI ... he fought for all our freedom ... not white or brown or green .. all our freedom ...

Who says you are not allowed to be proud of your Scottish ancestors? I can tell you of my descent lines from Whanganui Iwi - and from Scotland ... of the results of the Highland Clearances and the effect it had on those ancestors and how that geneology (whakapapa) comes to me today ... of the Irish fighters, and the English - this is all what we call Whakapapa ... it is the stories of the past, the whakapapa, which make us who we are today - citizens of this country - Our Country.

Can we truely say "Our" when many here say Māori and Pākehā and mean it as devisive and confrontational?

Huh ? Tasman was lost ... Cook was shown this land by Tupaia, a native Tahitian, who drew Cook a map of the Pacific marking 36 Islands - including these ones - he drew the map in Tahiti and then sailed with Cook ... Marion DuFrense was looking for the Southern Continent .. and happened to find the land Tasman discovered by simply sailing around looking ...

Once Cook was shown the land he wrote the directions to get back ... but he had Polynesian help to get here ... for all his navigational skills and instruments ...

I can not think of any situation when it would be culturally appropriate to "fuck your ass" as you so indelicately put it.

I can imagine someone "fucking your arse" but beastiality has no cultural precident anywhere ...

Good spelling is always appropriate however ...

After reading comments made by Schrodinger's cat in the context of this thread, I suspect the existence of some sly piss-taking. Or not.

Do you think the white peope who came here were blameless ? Human beings throughout history have resorted to violence when they get angry with each other - no group has the moral high ground from history.

But we also slept with the immigrants, had children with them, traded with them, helped them survive.

Now we all live in this country, we are friends and relations - why would we want to hate our friends and relations? Why would we want to deny the Pākehā of this country what the Treaty of Waitangi gaurantees them ... our ancestors signed the treaty voluntarily - and expected people to live by it. We have kept our side of the bargain - have the immigrants ?

I have no doubt that in many cases the early white settlers did mistreat the Maori people, however it's not fair that certain Maori tribes have these land rights that white people don't have, or at least they seem to think they have these land rights.

Fair ??? Who told you the world was fair ?

Was it fair that a group of people sailed over the horizon and took our land away ? By force, by trickery, by theft and blatant confiscation? Sure we sold some of it .. but not enough for the land-hungry immigrants.

Pākehā have land rights - just as many as Māori ... just different .. If we give Pākehā the same rights as Māori do Pākehā give Māori the same rights ?

Just have a look at the foreshore and seabed debate - our rights to a day in court to argue our case were taken away ... I'll bet in Pākehā rights to a day in court were taken asway the Government would fall the next day ...

"Our land". The Maoris were immigrants to NZ, just like every other cunt. Since I'm part of a minority group (I'm South African), I should start my own tribe and have a big cry about how I've been unfairly treated and that I want my share of the foreshore and seabed.

You really should get that sand out of your pussy, it's really starting to upset you.

Would you like me to give you a tissue so you can have a big cry about it?
