Don't want to have a typical teenage job...

Hey my name is Hugh, i am 17 (in 4 days) and am still at school.
I am a passionate bike rider, been riding since I was 4 years old and currently ride a BSA shooting star b44 and a Honda CBR250r while also racing classic motorcycles. Also being a trainee fire fighter and rugby player.
just a bit about me... but

with my summer holidays coming up I'm looking for a job and rather then being like my friends and working at Mc D's, supermarkets etc i thought i would see if I could find a job in my passion motorbikes. I will be going round asking at bike stores and seeing if anybody needs any work. but I thought I would put this up on kiwibiker and see what happens.

Appricate any advice or any knowledge of any jobs available. have a CV written up and as I said will be asking round.

Cheers again kiwibikers, from a kiwi biker noob

Welcome to KB Hugh! Any youngster who's into classics and owns a BSA has to be okay in my book! My first bike was the venerable B31 of '52 vintage.

I like your attitude and wish you well in your endeavours but I know you'll struggle to find casual, (or any), work in bike shops, the market is not exactly booming along right now and you may be forced to do work you're not enamoured with. The important thing, of course, is your desire to work and earn for yourself and that's to be commended in an age when many teens would rather bludge off their parents and spend all day on PlayStation. Goodonyer!

Mine had the plunger rear and I sold it for $200.00! Had a gutted Dunstall megaphone and sounded great! Highlight of ownership was dragging off an FJ Holden up Bank St. in Warkworth, rattling the windows of the shops as I wound it up in second gear...

MotoMail might be a good place to start Hugh. You and Chris Highland (if you don't already know him) would have heaps to talk about.

You sound like a chap with your head screwed on straight from the start.

hahahaha sounds lyk great fun but ofcourse I would never do anythign like that . yea those pipes can rumble my friend has them on his Guzzi and I can barely hear the B44 when riding with him haha. nd must have been sad to see her go for $200 .

Honda BROS650, I havnt seen many of them around. never seen one personly but look like a nice bike. maybe a future streetfighter project?? haha

nd actually I know Chris Highland very well as he runs the NZCMRR young rider schlorship which I am lucky enough to be in, so ill have to have a chat to him see if he has ny spaces. cheers

thanks for all the input everyone haha

Yeah, it did need some work when I sold it, but like many of the vehicles of our youth, we wish we'd kept them. Maybe why I think I'll keep the C50T forever...

    Don't be so crass.
I'll get my coat and hat....

I agree though, I wish I never got rid of the Morrie, V8 rover (a few weeks ago) GPZ400 or the 650.
Plus about 10 others I regret selling.
