Nope. Wouldn't want to get labeled as irresponsible !
    Or is that too late?

Which part of my attitude didn't you like?

The acknowledgement that we could have a problem?

    The analysis of that problem?

A proposed solution for that problem?

Discussing it with the people concerned and hoping for feedback?

Not holding you in the same high regard you hold yourself?

Yes I've ridden TCWNR quite regularly over the last few years and the only person who's spooked me is Russ on the Harley. I can imagine getting taken out by him... or some newb who hasn't picked up on the vibe of the ride. So maybe we should make it explicit.

Yes he was part of TCWNR. YOU COCK. I was tempted to turn around and head back to the Royal to duke it out. Alas, I am older and maybe wiser than I once was. Tone it down you muppet, you know who you are, there was only one yellow Hyo on the ride. RANT ENDS. Hope the rest of you enjoyed the ride.
I saw this exact incident and you're within your rights to be pissed at the bike in question.

I go 40 on the rear and 36 on front. Seems to work nicely for me.

    Cheers John.

Checked tonight - back had dropped to 36. Front still 36 - that will teach me. USed to the SV which drops one pound per month!

Don't let your ego take control.
When you're riding in a bunch ride smoothly and predictably.
If you're fast go towards the front of the group. If you get caught behind slower riders just chill the fuck out and look after them. Maybe you can offer some helpful advice at the Royal.
All the responsibilty for the overtake lies with the overtaker.

All relative and useless I'm afraid (and too many). Agree with the caught behind the slower rider, but everything else isn't practical.

When you have the attention of a group - less is more. Do it with fewer hard and fast rules. My 3 would be enough.

Fair enough but that's how I try to ride... and your rules mean you can't overtake a car all the way down to Featherston... and you can cram that right up your arse.

As mentioned, experienced riders know where to overtake safely. Problem is the newbie behinds you sees you do it and thinks gee - I could probably do it to. Besides, it is meant to be the cruisy ride, yes?

Maybe we don't agree or I'm not very good at explaining the point. Either way continued discussion is pointless.

Meh... continued discussion is only poinless if you're incapable of being persuaded.

My Insight To The Wednesday Night Rides

    From my blogg:
Wellington Wednesday Rides Next Spring Summer 2010-11

Though I am no longer regularly riding, I am very pleased to see that a representative of BRONZ has taken up the challenge of the Tuesday evening rides for Learners and Restricted riders. In that regard I would like to think that Uncle B's legacy remains, albeit a Tuesday and not the original Wednesday.

Regarding the Wednesday rides, I think there is room for improvement. The blogg entry link above discusses several aspects.

Ride safe and enjoy the ride.
