Probably because some people need time to get work, gear up, and get back into town? Perhaps you could try turning up at 6:15-20? Relax... it's daylight savings

The Wednesday night ride time of arriving at 6 but leaving at 6.30 gives people the choice to come earlier to catch up with friends, check out bikes and meet new people, and also gives people a choice whether to turn up early or turn up at 6.25 if they like. Without fail before we leave the car park we always brief in a group where we are going, where the stops are along the way and who is leading and who is tail end charlie. It can be hard to find out who is who if you can't see their face on their avatar but the best way is to introduce yourself to another rider that night. Each night there is a mixture of who turns up to ride but socialising at the pub with other riders is the best way to find out. We always try and cater for experienced riders to beginners. New people don't be afraid to ask on this thread also. We have a great bunch of people and are always willing to help out in anyway we can. There are a number of routes we ride and not every route suits everyone. We tend to stick to about 6-8 different routes and as seasons and earthquakes change so do the conditions. Some loving the twisties and some the gentle riding and the straights, its hard to please all the people all the time. We are open to new routes and don't be afraid to suggest a route on this thread. I hope Jmemonics reply and this one helps answer some questions

On point one there used to be a rider briefing, everyone gathered around and it was easy to work out who was leading which ride etc, I take it this is not being done now? I cant make it often now days as working situation has altered so I am a little at a loss as to why you are having trouble identifying the leaders.

As to getting to know the folks, wander around say hi and don't like some sit on your bike, in the corner or away from the group then complain that no one interacted with you as has happened in the past. These folks are unlikely to bite, its not just up to them to meet you.

    1) Make yourself known to new people - we have no idea what you look like from your avatar.
    2) In general, I and some others think that far too much time is being wasted at the BK carpark. If we are having a group ride at 6:00pm, why can't we move off at say 6:15 instead of hanging around the carpark until after 6:30pm?
On point 1, like everyone has said, just jump in and say Hi, we don't bite that much, it can also depend on the amount of bikers we have, sometimes there isn't time to get round and meet everyone, the pub is a good way to get to meet everyone!

On point 2, as the others have said, you don't have to turn up till 6.25pm or not at all and just meet us at the destination. It's up to you what you want to do!

    Looking forward to meeting you!

Who could be scared off with a rider with their head on fire or when he takes his helmet off looks like Eddie from Iron Maiden-hang on is that the other way round? and have Chopper Reid bowling up to ya spouting "How the fuck are ya?". As for Kermit (AKA-Hey wait for me!), well that dodgy little bastard is worth staying away from at the best of times! not to mention his bike could explode into a million little Korean bits at any moment!!!

Good ride tonight. The two groups worked and I think most people got what they wanted.

Did anyone count the bikes tonight????

Little River next week?? With the option of a blat to Akaroa for those that want it??
And remember ...... if it hasn't got one of "Uncle Flip's" prosthetic kickers it isn't a real motorbike!!!

Tonight was mint, great weather, bikes, and people. Good to feel as though I don't just use the bike for commuting.

Also I hate to ruin it but damn it I can't contain it any longer. I am genuinely not responsible for the tags this season. I have no problem with them, since they're hilarious, but I promise it wasn't me.

Will try and see you all next week.
