I don't race nor never been to a track day but just want to say Nurburgring nordschleife.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

If I owned the track id say if you dont like it dont come, if majority of bike riders dont like it then your not welcome.

A chicane there will wreck the track
Nice answer Chop. This is the sort of thing I was looking for.

For the record, I don't have a problem with it myself, the line I take I'm not turning that much at that point, and a little air doesn't bother me. In fact I like the hump.
But after recent events over the last few years I've been involved in, I have no desire to watch people die anymore, and if a small change can sort it, then why not?
Soooo, what about an air fence or pile of bales? Any objections to that?
(and without all the childish name calling would be nice....)

Not sure what you're trying to say here: they stopped racing there 'cos it's too dangerous. You can still do laps but thats a whole different thing to a group of racers travelling en masse at the limit.

I re-watched the last round of the nationals form HD earlier this year to see what it looked like on TV and there was a load of air-fences / bales or something against the wall at the start of the front straight.
It looked fine and certainly no worse than Silverstone and they ruined that track for bikes with the stupid bus-stop chicane, the new layout is way faster and still very little run off, so maybe this won't prohibit international series running here.

Ah na, Silverstone has a HUGE run off area on their kink.

Was actually thinking that a Luffield style complex before the man straight at HD would server nicely to slow the initial speed and get everyone pointed down the straight in stead of at the wall.

It looks like Silverstone was upgraded by the same company who designed Hampton Downs

Yeah they dont race anymore at the "ring" damn shame it is awesome place.
As for dangerous imagine approaching a fast wide hairpin type corner running in a bit wide as you dont know the track or lines.........and a Porsche 996 slips up the inside under brakes. Then coming over a very fast blind hill with the front wheel pointing skywards .....only to catch sight of a 52 seat tour bus parked on the track so punters can dis-embark to take pics of your wheelie (complete with "oh shit eyes thru the visor)
Now thats what you call dangerous................. a couple of my experiences back in the 90,s ........ we made it a stopover on our european bike trips.
72 corners for 8 quid a lap (pre euro) ...... put it on your bucket list.
