Tyre choice for adventure riding? (Mixing road and off-road)

It will cost you approx $240 for a pair, good to use and abuse for the four weeks nand then put some road bias tyres on for the return trip to the North.
Tenere 660, 1 990 Adventure and 2 950 Adventures...
I am gonna give them a go, way way cheaper than the TKC, but I haven't priced Mitas E09's 130/80/17 and 90/90/21

Mitas E09s $170 rear and $128 front in christchurch at the moment. The dam things keep on creeping up and up and up in price.

Ouch, yes, they are getting pricey. TKC80 at the moment though $264.60 for the rear and $189.00 for the front. It does make the Pirelli MT21 Rallycross a good buy..
130/90/17 $140.04 and the 90/90/21 $94.25 plus freight of course...Way cheaper though.
Heidenaus are pricey too at present...

Almost everything always is a good buy compared to the TKC80. My records show it as 40% dearer per km than the MT21 with no appreciable benefit for your extra money. T63 still the winner on grip & cost so far.

MT21 fronts have been $95 for years and years!

The V rubber copy of the MT21 seems to last longer and costs less.

Well, I didn't, but seeing you offered... Ta...I guess, maybe they are made with left over rubber from Thai Condoms then.... Do they clean them first?

LC8's a MT21'a are not a good mix. I burned up about 50% of one in 1000kms on the 2009 DB pre run while trying to be reasonably nice. It was blatantly obvious it was disappearing at an alarming rate. To get 4 weeks out of one the LC8 has better be ridden like it is a 250. I reckon the E07 has a much grip on SI soils and lasts much much better. Get a new E10 rear if they are available in size for the KTM's now.

JMJ I think the seller answered your question about the Michelin S12 rear (definitely not road legal) not the Michelin 21" front which appears to have dot markings.

Yes you will be pleased to know that Mitas have planned a production run of
150/70-18 E-07, E-08 and E-10 for 2011 in the mean time we have the E-09
