They aren't all bad and they have improved a little over the years especially scooters....
The early ones would probably make it twice down a driveway before shyting itself in the approximate position for the base of your next inorganic pile. They aren't even heavy enough to sell to someone needing to hold their boat in one place.
They had to improve the longevity so they realised just blindly copying a quality brand didn't garantee the product was going to be as good. They had to understand why a metal part was not meant to be plastic, bearings need to be..well, load bearing....gears need to fit to work...chains shouldn't stretch so fast they alter the gearing.
So Chinkanese brands have improved to the point they can make it all the way to the local landfill, by themselves, before the rubber fuel seals perish or the wheel bearings collapse or the piston sticks to the wall of cylinder because they ran out of the correct size jet....and not all metals are the same, being harder than plastic isn't good metallurgy.
Personally I think its great because not everyone one has a trailer.
