I have tried to get some Renthal enduro high bars but there are none in the country so I will have to wait for the new year or more probably get from OE. i tried some others but they aren't as high as I want & I don't want to spend money on low bars.
Padmei, there's some Renthals on TradeMe in Nelson for $40, cheap enough for keeps. Throw those other ones away bro, one day they'll break and you'll be lucky to be walking home.

For those running weird 18" rears of course.

The Kenda K760 is almost a sand paddle too.

Considering its Chrissy and all my riding opportunities have been reduced significantly until the beach races I started lightenining the KLR today. The rear rack and packrack and tool kit (with tools), and rear peg mounts and brackets and spare levers have now been removed.
I had to tether the bike to the ground to stop it floating away its that light.
If I get time the WR pipe will go on as well, but on second thoughts maybe a quiet bike will be better so as not to draw too much attention to myself.

If Nordie hadn't mentioned the ride to the race rule all sorts of shit could be removed.
Talked to a guy at Morleys who seemed to be an organiser and he said as long as the bike has a catch tank it is ok to run antifreeze. Didn't ask about sidestands. How much do they weigh i wonder.?
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

I replaced the bars on gonzo & forgot to put on the tether switch- Doh. Figuring it's time to give it some love I will do an oil change & coolant change.
How do I put on a catchtank? Why? It's a beach for chrissake I've been dumping toxic waste there for years...

Oh BTW I found out why my bike fell over on the stand the other night - it's rooted!! It must have got walloped by the big rock at the end of tinline valley road that caught my ankle cos it is bent backwards - hence the big gouge out of the swingarm.
I'm thinking I'll put the new tyres on this week & leave the bike here rather than take it to the bach for xmas. Man fresh tyres are lovely things to look at.

You already have a catchtank/reservoir, its on the right opposite the radiator.

who else is entered in the adventure class?, and are we going to arrive together en masse, personally I would rather use a trailer, so there is somewhere to stash gear/food/tools/fuel? etc, but riding there also appeals and if it goes pear shaped someone will have some space on a trailer surely.

Colin, if you are taking a trailer would it be ok if you could take some stuff there for me?

I'm gonna ride out there - that's all part of it - stright off the highway onto the racettrack.

we also need to have a gazebo- I have one but may be a hassle on the back of the bike with the tool kit & tyre warmers. Hmmmm how to get it there... hmmm

I have a trailer which can take one bike (mine ) and a lot of gear. I'll just have to sort out a car, as I don't have a towbar at the moment. Gazebo will be very welcome. Shade is always appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Colin
