Unless it's a water cooled two stroke - bring it up towards running temp before taking off.....

I let my 93 FXR idle away untill the fan kicks in, then i know it's warm as !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"
Bowls can wait !
I used to have a VF500 and a guy at Silverstone (who raced them) said the best way was to start them up gently and ride straight away, removing choke as soon as pos but keep revs down until temp guage moves. Clocked well over 90 thou miles on it in just over two years with just basic maintenance and it rode brilliantly when i sold it - reluctantly. Done it with all my bikes and the current one is over 112 thou and rides lke new.
