If thats me your talking about on the KLR , I missed a gear. Honest I did, and in the first race I was watching the placard chicks and didn't see the flag guy.

And before anyone else says anything I did have one DNF in the feature race. Major fuel starvation issue is all I'm going to say.

padmei, have you looked at your clutch yet.

Thanks for the entertainment, my son loved it. I did too, think I might buy be a dirt bike next and then watch out, I'll race you, that looked like so much fun especially when the turnaround bits got all rutted up. Cheers for a fun afternoon.

It's funny that from the sidelines the backmarkers looked so slow going round the corners. When I was trying to pin it (yes believe it or not guys at times I was) it seemed so fast with so much going on at the same time.

Woodman I've taken the engine case off & have to take the clutch basket out to see why the lifter won't... um, lift. I'll take a short vid & put it on the KLR thread so I won't hear all the DR boys crapping on.

BTW thanks to alll those that helped in the pits & with support. Hopefully next year we can tempt a few more out there- maybe even a Welly contingent.

Heres a few of 'our' team in action .By the way I've got hundreds so if anyone wants copys on a disc -PM me
We just got home ,had a minor problem last night when the mounting bolts on the camper's alternator sheared off no worries though ,being a mussel farmer I fixed it with string -lashed the alternator to the block and tightened up the adjuster ,got us home
That was an awesome day at the beach ,our whole family enjoyed it .
The tussle between the S10 and the K100 was particularly entertaining .

great pics, in hindsight I reckon we should have run with the k100 and s10 etc it would have made a great class. The s10 really should have been with us anyway from what Ryan and Colin were saying. Shit i could have told them the klr was pre 92.

Took the clutch basket off & seperated the plates. Looked & looked & couldn't find anything that looked broken, out of place or otherwise.

The lever bit that was rotating shoud have been sitting 5mm above the top as per wear marks. All it does is pull the lifter (rod thing) that pulls the pressure plate off - simple as that. I played around with things & then temp buttoned it up & tried it.

Seems to work when I push the bike however with a fair bit of resistance. I may have a stretched cable but will get a new gasket, fill er up & see what happens.

Anyone had any xperience with any similar problems. Even tho I was racing I'm sure I wasn't giving it any more than I would on a knarly day in the forest. I did redline it a few times tho however the engine temp guage never read any higher then normal (ie in the middle of the guage).

Underground could you email me a copy of that pic? I'll PM my email address.

Both those bikes were eligible for both the pre-86 and the MX3 Open (with us). Yep, it would've been nice to be racing against them, too.
    Cheers,
    Colin

Does the lever still look normal?
    No burring or twisting?
