Thumbs up The 2011 AMA Supercross kicks off on 8 January!

This season is gearing up to be a good one.

We've got James Stewart returning so too Ryan Villopoto after his exit from last years SX due to a serious crash. Dungey is back to defend his title. Chad Reed will be racing for his own team. Andrew Short is now with KTM. There are so many guys in the 450 class capable of taking the title.

The Lites class is just as stacked with a few newcomers. James Stewart's younger brother Malcolm is debuting for Suzuki and the crazy fast euro Ken Roczen is debuting for KTM.

Hopefully our friend SlickNick from the States will once again be uploading his HD torrents for us who are not so fortunate.

    It's gonna be good.

As you've said above it looks like it will be a great season to watch. The start always seems to come around so quickly.

ESPN coverage on Friday nights is pretty good but just wish they'd put it in HD!

Stolen off Facebook but a good read!

On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

Last year when I really got into on ESPN it was on basically the following Friday night after the race. 10pm was Lites, 11pm was Supercross.

    Been hanging out for this.

Just got back from up north and was worried I'd missed the first one.

i dunno if any of you have seen the preview but there was still a lot of discussion about dungey having an easy title race, and that the big names were out so he was unchallenged - but none of them seemed to consider this

in order to win a championship, you need the most points at the end of the season. this is usually achieved by riding all the rounds. dungey did this. yes, it appeared villapoto got under his skin and was giving him a run for his money - BUT - dungey was riding so fast, the only way villapoto coud pass him was by riding hazardously faster which ended in him making a mistake and throwing it away.

So i would say that he was challenged for the title, its just when villapoto tried to take it, it was that tight that he was walking that thin line between being quick and being out of control. to me i think its a credit to dungey that he forced other riders to ride that hard to beat him.

the same also goes for chad reed/js. dungey did loose to stewart in rd 1, but he was more than competitive holding on for 17 laps. then cr and js decided to get into it with each other and throw their season away instead of riding for the win like dungey.

so yeah, i think dungey more than deserved his championship

but that being said, i think noone will have anythign for stewart - noone can just increase the speed like he can and i htink if his head is in the right place, and i am sure he will want the title, then i think it will be a one sided season
