Haha the big blue pig was the only one that didn't yawn That was a pretty damn chunky section. Not be fun to go up.

i never yawned either - just stalled trying to park the bike to help TA then couldnt get it going again. i think thats were my thigh cramped up real bad as well

and maybe stick a spark arrestor on if you havent got one. mine had been taken out so ive just bolted wire from a kitchen seive on and secured it with a hose clamp (this was suggested by someone the the capital coast adv ride thread and is easy enough to do just to be on the safe side)

Good comment re spark arrestors, in conjunction with each bike carrying a fire extinguisher. One of the forestry routes is near major forest fire event just before Xmas. They have had rain since but a couple of days of Norwest will make the locals real nervous again.

I started to read the roll chart....
seems endless but i guess its not as bad as it looks in real life???
Not sure what my work arrangements are for a bit but man i would love to have a crack.Gonna try to sort something next year!

To be honest I've never really had to use one in anger. I've done one CCA (08) but could get away with following others for most of it and we followed an old one around Banks Peninsular but I could have guessed most of the route before leaving home. Neither of these were really challenging. The same goes for the GPS files. I won't be bothering with a roll chart or the GPS for the dusty - I know the route rather well know. I'm hanging out for somebody to make something up so that I can get really stuck into it .

Not sure what you fella's are worried about. I got big blue down there without too much hassle and last time I checked I'm not David Knight.

Sounds like a challenge - yeah would be keen on an orienteering type thing, you could have GPS co-ords as your stations, take a wee bit of organising but I am sure we (read TA with assistance probably) can get something together to say thanks for all the work on the DB1ks

I'll try and give you a call tonight. Basically you turn up with some money, your roll chart in a holder, and you organise your accomidation in Fairlie. There is one spare bed in Alex if you want it. Have a look at my website and the first post for more details.

yea my back yard....they wont tell me where there going.

they said is big bike 2 up friendly... Hmmmm not the places i would take you ...small bike 1 up unfriendly....yup that sounds better...
