    You tell me?

i bought a tail tidy for my bike and it arrived right after the new years break.

i go to install it and it doesn't fit? no problem, so i contact the retailer telling them they have sent me the wrong tail tidy for it and request a replacement part or refund.

ive now been communicating with them everyday for the past 8 days trying to sort the problem, because he wanted me to verify the bike year, if i was installing it incorrectly (seriously how do you fuck that up? its two bolts!). so i finally send him a picture of the tailtidy flat up against my bike not fitting and the holes are off by at least 10mm.

this is what he sends me back:

"Looking at the picture, it pretty much lines up, have you tried bolting it on? Let me know the measurement on the tidy where the bolt on part is (end to end) but it should be the same as all the others we have in stock. As I mentioned before we know they fit the 07 as we've sold around 50 of them to 600 and 750 owners."

seriously? i thought the picture was quite clear... tell me what you think.

I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

    What do I think?

I think you're one of these troublesome customer type pricks who expects the parts you order for your bike to actually fit it.

    Some fucken people...........

One question though (at the risk of offending you), are you sure your bike's a K7? K8 was different to K6-7.

    Just a thought.

It does look that if you lift it 10mm higher it bolts straight on.
    Have you tried that?

you probably could but it doesn't fit with the natural lines and would look very tacky

Umm, another possibility, is your subframe the original? Could be after market if you bike was crashed previously.

Mine was replaced by owner number 1 who couldn't turn left and wanted a little lie down.

    So the "width" is correct?

It looks like when you bolt it up , the centre of the tail tidy will sit against the plastic bodywork rather than the metal of the subframe. If thats the case i would say it fits (I think it will look a bit naff, but thats more likely poor design rather than a damaged/incorrect part). Once you got the plate on would someone else notice?

i highly doubt it, this bike is immaculate to to bottom, the previous owner would have had to put some serious work into making it look this good.

yea thats exactly the problem Ive looked at other ones made for the k6-k7 and the have a curve in the middle to compensate for this

Hate to say it but I think its probably meant to sit over the top of the plastic and not below.

Was it cheap? Do you have a sales photo of it fitted to a bike?

.... back in green and feeling great ....

If it was a female you were about to mount, yeah you'd be close and at least get one hole. However mate thats not even remotely close even if you shaved off the outside edges of the holes....
