    Clutch setup

Ok just wanting to know how you guys have your clutch lever set,

do you prefer the clutch to engage/ disengage when the lever is almost fully out'
or with it almost fully in, engaged/ disengage
At Ardmore tonight and found my lever, was almost full out before it engaged.
which is funny, soon as i start to release the clutch lever I pull my legs up onto the pegs, and almost fall over as the clutch has not yet engaged.

Maybe 3/4 ish leaning more to the outside edge, ie a small pull to work the clutch.

    Why?

I find my clutch hand/foot change are so finely tuned that the foot is moving to change as the hand is pulling thus a earlier disengagement means a clean shift. Or some wank like that

I don't like a lot of play in my levers and detest a lot of throttle play. I notice a lot of bikes at the dealers have heaps of throttle play, sloppy prep in my opinion.

Yeh, prolly around 3/4 ish out too. I like to use 2 fingers, if it comes in too far you can't fully disengage it. I like it to start to take up as soon as it takes the pressure off the spare 2 fingers, but before it looses touch, that way I can feel where it is. ok?

Im just a short ass, and struggle to touch the ground, so as soon as I start to release the lever and turn the throttle, my feet are off the ground, but with it moving so far before it engages I almost topple over or stall.

i like mine really near the end, and i run only the minimum amount of free play, but it comes down to personal choice, i know some guys like to run a heap of free play so the clutch engages around half way

I like to have mine so it disengages and I can keep two fingers still wrapped around the grip! So I suppose its set in the last 1/3 of its travel with very little play.

A fair way out 4/5, I don't run the lever right on the edge of my reach, it's about the first knuckle.

Yeah im right on the end with very little free play the 125 2 smoker taught me that its nice to have clutch with little effort and time
Even on the old ones if you dont race serious and you wanna just go do the odd club day and smoke everyone on a big old 5hundy it great and if you get beaten you have a handful of excuses

I have about 10mm free play especially on hire bikes then I'm assured that riders don't ride the clutch too much. Plus in the bush you are always feathering the clutch so its real easy to keep the sorry, should be 2 fingered approach.
I find I like a bit of throttle play as well. I like to know that when I button off then Off is really Off.
