I can't see anything through my tinted visor at night! If I think I might be out later, I wear a clear visor with sunglasses. Or carry a spare visor, but doesn't work for me as I can't get the damn thing off - I have 2 helmets, 1 clear and 1 tinted.

What brand of helmet kitty? I'm sure someone can show you how to swap visor? Just seems like an important thing to know. Oxford also sells a bag for carrying visors in.

It sure looks easy when other people do it but my left hand isn't that good - I have one of the joints in my left thumb pinned/fused and a fair bit of nerve damage in the hand, so I am really just toouncoordinated. I just end up breaking them. Thats okay though - I was lucky to get as much use back of my left arm and hand as I did. Other people have it a lot worse...
I've got a tinted visor for when I go on day rides. I wear glasses so not being able to wear shades of any kind it's really good to have a tinted visor.
I've been caught out a few times in the dark though. It's alright when there are street lights, however unlit areas are very dangerous.
I havn't had any problems from the cops even when I have been caught out at night.
