They have arrived...

Not perfect but they'll do.

If you need spare Tenere bits and aren't afraid of climbing under houses then I know a great source...

Be warned however. If you get caught, they may make you coffee and you could be stuck there for a while

Trailtech Vapor speedo's don't like AC voltage all that much if you want to know your actual revs...
According to the Vapor, the redline is somewhere north of 19,000rpm...

The tuning forks on the tank were already coming off after an hour so I helped them on their way and moved them down a bit.

XT350 gaiters don't fit

The first bit of the concertina needs to go out not in. In means to small a diameter.

Red fork skins are next on the scavenger hunt list.

Mounted the Vibranators tonight.

Spent 2 hours banding the alloy hand guards juuuuuust right so they'd mount up with no bending tension on any of the bolts so the Vibranators would stay nice and true down the inside of the bars.

After riding over to Mot and back and out to Wakefield yesterday I had to do something

Nah. I'm waiting to see what forks I'm going to end up using.

41mm TT damper-rod original's.
46mm YZ USD's (adjustable compression and rebound).
41mm KX USD's (adjustable at the bottom only - comp or re?).
43mm KDX RWU's (Shane gets the 46mm USD's for the KDX and the KDX forks already have the right springs and gold valves).

The KDX forks will let me keep in the spirit of Classic MX too.

Just read an article on doing up old TT350's.
Very informative.

What size does the KLR have?

Got the 2003 46mm USD's the other day. Got a YZ front wheel to match coming next week.

They'd go well on the DR but the current setup is pretty damn adventure perfect and with the smaller bike for playing with the DR has probably done it's last 3-hour cross country

Actually, apart from some panniers and the rear shock, the whole DR is pretty much adventure perfect seen through these rose coloured glasses.

My klr has a beefy 38mm whereas padmeis has a staggering 41mm.

There was a guy on the dusty with a DR with some beefy USDs installed, husqvarna ones iirc, he reckons they work brilliantly, and they look real good too.

Have been thinking over the last couple of days that it is time to start retiring the klr from the real rough stuff, or ride slower over it. The poor thing is not really up to it and it is quite nice on road trips etc, I actually really enjoyed the CHCH to Nelson ride on the seal the other day. So maybe on the lookout for something small too, or maybe something like an airhead (don't ask) and sell the klr. Sorry to hijack thread.
