... died about 12 years ago (run over by a car).
He was a fox-terrier / King Charles spaniel cross, was very friendly and good with kids, had a lovely gentle nature, and loved to chase things and to swim.
I didn't have the heart to get another dog after he died in my arms.
The kids named him - called him Didley, which was funny because shortly after we got him, one of them got a book fom the library about a gang of rascally robber dogs, whose leader was called Didley!

The 85 year old dear next door finally lost her ancient retriever yesterday and she's a bit tearful. I saw her ride off on her treadley for her afternoon constitutional as I got home, and apparently she had a wee cry on several of the neighbours on the way.
Later that evening there's a knock on the door, it's a guy, late teens. "I heard that old lady next door to you... her dog died today. I went up the road and I've collected some money for her. I dont know her and I'm a bit embarrassed, can you give her this? It was $150.
The daughter tried to take him next door but he got all shy. Was off to Orks on Monday, to Uni, had to go home.
Bloody women around here have been bawling all day.

This was my beautiful little wolf dog. She died young and unexpectedly 12 months ago. She was on her way to becoming an obedience champion, so she had beauty and brains. Very cool little dog she was.
