How much to ship a race bike to Oz?

Fairly sure a few of you must have done this but just trying to get an idea on how much it might cost to ship my R6 race bike over to Australia.

Also is the process easy or full of hassle?

No more then $500. They will have to pay customs maf and gst so all good but really easy. Its a long process though it will take 8 weeks before they see it taking into account sailings sheduales and customs etc

    Has anyone done this?

I've been asked to look into it for a customer (I work in freight forwarding).

Can you do a Carnet? He's been told that an unregistered bike can't have a carnet?

    TIA,

They do it with race bikes all the time, I thought that was only for if it would be coming back though

Yeah, sorry. It is coming back.

He is against paying a Bond in any case, but a temporary entry into AU will hit him with a bond.

Do you know anyone on here who has personally done it? I'd like to pick their brains.
