Haha both explanations are equally valid! When I got my first bike my mum was all "ah they're not safe, I never wanted you to ride a nasty blardy motorbike, I blame your father for this, it's all his fault!" rant, rave, rant some more. She was right about it being my dad's influence since he always had bikes and I rode with him as a kid.
19 years later and she still rants about me riding those nasty blardy motorbikes!
