    Moving bikes to South Isaland

Anybody got any idea on who can provide a decent price to move 5 bikes to SI - westport. All the moving companies want to crate them and that costs a fortune. Can't take them on a trailer as towing the boat.

You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
And now a third thing a bloody big gun to shoot theives with!

I can recommend them. We have bought and sold a bike (Auckland - Wgtn) and got these guys to ship it. No need for crates... They have properly set up trucks and know what is important when shifting them around

give the kids $100 each and send them on a awesome trail ride to the south island failing that you could get a large double pallet and stand them all up on it tie all together etc and send them that way. remember they charge by cubic weight im getting a kx125 sent from Dunedin at round $250 with daily fr8

Thanks for the positive feedback guys.

Yes I work for Fliway Transport, feel free to send me a PM on here or email direct mclarenr@fliway.com

Best to let me know if you'd like door to door or depot to door, we're based at Auckland Airport. Probably easiest to let me know the model numbers as I can work out weights / dims off them.

Speedway guys are constantly going from north to south island A lot of them now take their cars in busses if you ask on Macgors under genreal discussion http://macgor.proboards.com/index.cgi?. you pay the trailer fee Im sure someone would do it for you. I have already been south this year and wont be going for a while or I would chuck a trailer on back of van.
Its always a good ride when you come home in one piece.

RJM sounds like the best bet, but if you have no luck I've used this site:
    http://www.backload4u.co.nz/

You list what/where/when you want shifted & companies with spare capacity contact you with a price. Works better for south to north (more empty trucks that way) but I still got a good price for TRG to CHC.

I know the guy who delivers boats for McLay from Milton (down by Timaru) up to Auckland. He is always looking for freight, he has a truck and trailer. Usually makes the trip every 2 weeks, he is happy to deliver anywhere between Aucks and Milton, don't think he goes to the coast though. Rides bikes too. Pm me for his contact if any of you are interested. He would probably do a cash deal, he's a sound as south island bloke and a bit mad. He is picking up a ute for me from Aucks on Monday and taking it to chch. In my experience with him it usually works out about half the cost of my usual provider mainfreight.
