    Liquefaction is a bitch

Just spent an hour scrubbing liquefaction off my bike.

For anyone with that experience to come, use lots of soap and hot water, probably should have water blasted it first.

    Harumph. Bloody earthquakes.

Nah, tar is far worse. I thought I could hose the stuff off, but it wasn't that easy.

The problem with a water blaster and a bike is that is is easy to get over enthusiastic, and squirt either water or dirt into places that shouldn't have either.

Waterblaster worked for me ... although I was careful to keep away from the stuff that can make sparks (oh, and not too close to the shiney stuff).

I have spent 3 weeks getting over a severly sprained ankle after dropping a bike....first time in 30 years.....at 10kph gently on a corner (Gasson St) on dried liquif.....silt (and new tire) Slippery as...no acceleration, just straight out from under me with no warning

I'm sure it gave you a fright Paul, these small unexpected incidents have disproportionate results. Walk slowly and carry a big stick.
