Can I make my 07 Suzuki DR-Z125 taller?

Bought Sharyns 2007 Suzuki drz125 about a month ago...maybe more.. and I love it to bits, but I feel its too small for me. I love the comfort of being able to touch the ground when needed so I dont want to go for a bigger bike just yet (im only a learner!) but I wondered if there is anything I can do to make it just a lil bit taller. I look pretty funny on it cos im not the smallest girl in the world (170ishcm tall and 65kgs lol) so yeah... anything I can do?

Please dont give me suggestions like "get a new bike".... cos thats on my to-do list when I can ride properly and confidently!

you can put taller bars on it, or bar spacers,

make sure the rear shock has has much preload on it as possible, and the front forks are level with the triple clamps,

Thats a good idea, I know sharyn had the seat changed before to make it shorter for her so she could reach the ground... I shall start a search for one

She she get the seat carved out or did she get a new lower seat? If carved out has the cut out been put back in?

not sure of the cost of a new seat but you might be surprised - we got our boy a new lower seat for his KTM SX 50 - expecting it to cost heaps but it wasn't badly priced at all

Im pretty sure she got it carved out and it hasnt been put back in at all, so a new seat is probably the best way to go?

I'd see about getting a new seat, they may even do a tall option (so taller than std). Other thing is to get a price from an upholsterer for getting more of the seat put back in - may need new seat cover depending how big it is.

Buy me BBR performance springs, i bought them for my 04 DRZ125L when i had that - it made it a completly different bike and gave it a couple of inches in height too which helped for an adult rider.

haha how times have changed, i spent last night lowering my crf450 cause thats rather large lol!

A mate had a carved out seat - took the cover off and put some foam in (sorry don't know what type but about as firm as the rest of the seat) then glued it down, trimmed off the extra with a knife then stretched cover back on - only cost him his time

You'd be better off to just buy a new seat.
We took a LOT out of it, there is almost no seat left to speak of so you wouldnt be able to re-use the cover if you put anything back in it.
You'd be better off to put that lowered seat on TM and sell it off and buy a standard one, or do a swap with someone.

The suspension can be would right up, again it was nearly right down for me.

The bars were lowered for me, so raise them up again. You could even space them up.
Also new bars with a higher rise to them will help bring it up a lot.

a new seat will be pretty expensive, you can get the old one rebuilt back to higher than standard, Roger at DR Trim in morrinsville does a very good job, try him at drtrim@xtra.co.nz
