Just what I can remember off the top of my head.....

1, Brian raised a issue regarding flag marshals to look where the rider is going not where they are coming from. This was greeted by an abusive steward suggesting that because flag marshals are volunteers then they can do the job however they like and if we dont like it they will go home.

2, I raised an issue regarding the Pit Lane start process, I was promptly told that there were no pit lane starts from a steward and an official.

3, The person giving the briefing had no idea what was going on as far as what practices were going on who was racing who was qualifying and for how long and tried to tell 600s and 1000s that we were only having 10 mins for qualifying.

A briefing shouldnt break out in several arguments as it did when the riders have resonable questions about the event and safety issues so based on the fact that these guys that were running the event didnt want to be there then I would be right to assume that they dont really want us there and they would be happy to run a club meeting thats not as important?
correct me if im wrong, but weren't alot of these arguments with mnz officials????

For anything race related from arai helmets, to sprockets and chains, XT Lap timers, HRC parts you name it, Kev can get it www.racesupplies.co.nz

The only riders briefing I went to was the one at HD, and it had the exact same issues in the same order, so I'm sure it wasn't just Teretonga that had that happen. The south island rounds all had the same steward so that wasn't only teretonga either. These problems seemed to be very generic

Another round up north just makes sense - its funny how F3 gets more points attributing races then the 'top' classes.... the 'top' classes benefit from an extra practice or qualify ( i can't remember which ) maybe a swap could happen there??

After Spectating for nearly all the rounds it seems that the problems encountered are a 'pressure' problem. If a safety issue or voice of improvement was raised on free practice Friday to any attributing member of the rounds orginiser then it would be very easily covered at riders brief removing the presure.....i.e. " ah yes nic we are removing that tyre this morning before you go out "

The problems APPEARED to be everytime a rider mentioned a point or something that could KILL him/her the IMMEDIATE response was DENY and ATTACK. And there was no way anyone could voice any points BEFORE riders brief. MNZ keeping motorcycling safe, fun and fair..... as the motto states this should be paramount - the rebutle on the safety issues raise was simply the against their own motto, a learning opportunity you could say.

I leave you on a possitive ending...... how well was the round run at Manfield..? ran by a bunch of people who hadn't run a road race event in nearly 10 years or something. In the morning they were 20mins ahead of schedule, so they stopped and looked after the marshalls while they had time..... brain surgens!

Then some good looking guy put on an unofficial after party with 20min notice..

Maybe some enterprising Clubs would like to trial it over a Winter Series ?????

A top level reply to one of NZ's top level racers.......
....and we wonder why members have had a gutsful of MNZ's over the top attitude towards us.

Not a good way to treat an individual that you have volunteered to help.

How kind of you to proffer your opinion on yet another issue thats got SFA to do with you - must have worked, as I received from Craig a very well thought out and constructed reply ( as you'd expect form a Gent of his stature ) this very morning

At the risk of coming across all smarmy, thank you Craig - I appreciate the time you take to try and assist positive change - much more difficult than multi-tasking by calling all and sundry liars while simultaneously polishing ones dolphin
