    eek Only 3 or 4 laps practise/qualifying?

Has anyone noticed how limited the practise / qualifying time is as listed on the Vic Website? 4 laps for most and only 3 for streetstock. Any opinions?

    Why no Motards?

Why are Motards not welcome anymore? If they accept they will use conventional race lines, keep their feet up etc,,why can't they run formula 3? It seems to me there are alot of riders being left out in the cold. Don't even mention Bears classes. Do we have that many entries that we can start choosing who can race? How about an entry level class for 125 Motards on std wheels? Lots of young MXers with bikes in sheds. 2 tyres, some sprockets and a main jet and look out budding roadracers? Just a thought.Maybe even get some of the old masters out for a play in a class like that?

How much time do you think they will take up and how many classes do you think it is possible to run in day?

Motards were continually battling for numbers even when they had their own class, so I reckon there'd be next to none showing up to compete against/with the road racers. The club shouldn't have to keep chasing up certain classes of bikes at round after round to scrape together legitimate race numbers when there are other classes gagging for track time.

BEARS? There's nothing stopping BEARS running in clubman's or the established classes. BEARS bikes dominated last years F1 class so it's hard to justify a separate class when they already have good options.

I kinda think you might be going about it the wrong way. Get expressions of serious interest from those young 125 motocrossers before suggesting a new class. Then you can rock up to a club meeting and say I've got x number of guys lined up to race. Otherwise it's just a lot of talk and effort only for no-one to rock up...as has happened in the past.

Can't argue with that I guess. But seems harsh not to be allowed to run one in F3. Good advise on the 125's. Maybe a club like MOCC would have the contacts to suss it out. I'm a voice in the wilderness for Bears obviously. I probably mean a B grade class for riders between Clubmans and you rocketmen in F1. Poor old Clubmans don't even get points>but thats another thread. Thanks anyway. Back to my cave.

motards were a bit hairy to race against in f3, i know because i raced against them at vic club and wanganui. unfotunatly they just dont mix well together.

The other issue i think was when vic club used to run the enduro race meeting, motards used to complain about not being able to carry enough fuel for a 30min race.

There is a clubmans B to start in then clubmans A and if you are consistently running under 1:18 you will be asked to move up to another class ( 1:18 in F1 in the winter series will probably see you with half a dozen bikes behind you going by last years times.)

The clubmans class was stripped of its title and points to stop people lurking there to get a trophy. I guess it was a problem or they wouldn't have done it I started the first year that was in place and was the top points scorer (mylaps keeps count even if the club doesn't ) in clubmans B so was a bit miffed but never mind

The club is flexible - if someone is doing 1:18's 1:17's but doesn't feel ready to move up yet that can be negotiated.

If theres no title or trophies associated,Then why have a restriction on laptimes???

Motorsport is supposed too be fun and if you force somebody to race in a class theyre not comfortable in it takes the fun out of it a little,Clubmans racing is as the name suggests and never should have had titles or points involved anyway.

Hey Wharfy, what's the race order this weekend? If Clubman's is before F1 I've got a cunning plan to enter Clubman's, do better than a 1:17, and be asked to move to F1, thereby gaining an extra race. Waddayarekun?

Edit: this is a pisstake...........or quite serious, I'm not sure yet....

Or just ask to share track with F2?
