I so wish that I had thought of that at the time.....
See, everybody treats it as a big joke until it actually happens.

But don't kid yourself - it does actually happen.

Noooo....everybody treats YOU as a big jokeBelieve me, I find nothing funny about dropping my bike, or writing it off. And yes, I know how lucky I am that I was wearing appropriate gear and that no vehicle of any sort was coming the other way and that I didnt hit a solid object. Annndddd, it is even less funny that you feel it appropriate to continue to peddle your unwanted wares in this manner.

As for the hows and whys you dropped your bike - I was happy to not go there (for the most part). Certainly at that stage, anyway. Others led the way, so I'm not responsible for taking it there.
Just to really mix it up, the whole thing is a package deal...the conditions one is riding in, how one is riding, how much attention is being paid, the kind of bike, the gear one is wearing. That was what I was saying here

There's a big difference between me and KM on that score. He believes that gear is not that important in the scheme of things, but I do. Wearing it is your last line of defence if for any reason it all goes tits up. How it saved you should be proof enough of that.

Bit of bitch fighting between the allies. Jeez, that's not good,,

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Yes it was really, whilst I have always wanted the best gear, it comes at a hefty price and I am lucky that my good woman appreciates me around the house enough to not put the squeeze on the bank account.....
