    XBox or PS?

Ok, I've done a search and found some old threads discussing this but nothing more recent.

Have had an N64 in the past and bought a wii for the kids/family games a couple of years ago. Also played Half Life etc on the PC. Kids have also had a ps1 and ps2 which I've used on the odd occasion.

Now thinking about getting a console and can't decide on which one.

    So..... Xbox or PS ?
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

If it wasn't for teh recent PSN security breach and outage I'd say PS3.

Even so I'd still say PS3.

    Because it has bluray.

    And it's black.

Talk about start a religious argument.
PS3 for me. Has blueray and hasn't crashed. However the games you wish to play can dictate your choice.

No offence taken. Got the tent and fishing gear already. Just want something to while away the odd few hours between the dreaded work thing and the sleeping thing when I'm not out riding.

Sometimes (as importantly) depends on what specific games you'd like to play.

    GT5, God Of War, KillZone = PS3

Halo, Forza and some other = XBOX

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

yes, yes u must... Halo? halo? that game got old a long time ago. I could have accepted Gears but halo?

But yea the box has gears, forza (& halo if your that way inclined), & the PS3 has everything else. I say put your money to the PS3, as people have said bluray is good, but the PS3 is also an awesome media server, has a range of games for everyone & when hackers aint hassling sony the online play is free.

FYI for those not up with the play "Gears" is Gears Of War

PSN = free (when it works but they steal your credit card details)

I've got an old XBOX360 listed on trademe - closes on sunday if you are interested.
    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=374482735

Having owned both I'd say the PS3 has the edge (but does cost more).

PS3 only has the edge as it can do more (blueray player and digital TV recorder - with Play TV accessory). It's just a bit more versatile - which is why I changed over.

If you are just going to use it for gaming then go for an XBOX360 (as it's cheaper). Both are equal as gaming machines.

PS3 is free to play online XBOX isn't (but having said that the PS3 online network has been shut down for nearly a month - will be back up at the end of May apparently).

Agreed. I'd stick with Xbox, even though I sold mine to afford the bike. But when I get the money again it'll be back to Xbox, there are no dedicated PS3 games as amazing as the Halo and Forza series ooo and don't forget fable (if you're into it). Plus the controller is oodles better than that bloody PS3 shit.

I always used to consider PS2 over Xbox when GTA was sony dedicated. But now that's multi-platform I'm happy to XBOX. Though blu-ray would be handy... and free internet play would be nice... but naaa XBOX definitely.... I think...

Fuck now I'm not sure anymore!

Neither save your money. I have both (well my brothers but they left the country) and the PS3 is the only one that gets used. Mainly because the flatmates have games for it i barely touch the thing.

    360 - cheaper

PS3 - bluray (you have to be an uber geek to notice quality over a dvd), free online gaming
