I'm picking up a semi-complete ZZR600D on Saturday![]()
This is going to be fun!
awesome, what's missing/wrong with it?

It's an engine/frame and other shit. The guy got it with a bent front end and started parting it out, he now needs to get rid of the lot, so I've given him a very generous (Like fuck, we know what I'm like) offer that he has kindly accepted.
He's going to send me info on what is there today, the only part that I need that is missing is the Carbs though, buckets n bits have some as far as I know though. All I need for the conversion is motor, oil cooler and the carbs. Wiring, cdi etc etc etc is all identical.even the spacers on the mounts are the same
So I'll have to grab dad and his heinously expensive to run Hilux on Saturday to pick it all up/get a ride home, unless.....
Has anybody got a ute or van that could be hired on Saturday? Will pay in gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Dropped the Honda off today, had a great ride to Wellington.
Got ZZR600 minus fairings sitting on the garage floor all in parts.
Only thing I'm missing for the conversion is the carb rubbers, but I'll try modify the existing ones to suit.
It's got nice new sprockets, good brake callipers, disks and pads.
Rims are nice, forks look like a "V"....
Should be an interesting project.
That's the planHave you got access to a dremel thingy? Got to use one to make the 400 rubbers fit the 600.
Will clean and check the carbs tomorrow, clean the motor, check the clearances etc etc and generally make it smile. Will grab oil/filter/coolant on Monday. CBFB has the tool I cannot for the life of me find in any shops without giving them my arm and/or leg.
The 100hp part with Neptune noises should be fun.
Anything will do haha better than using a file, sandpaper and craft knifeWhich is the alternative until I have some proper 600 rubbers.
Painted the timing cover from the 400 nice and pretty in black, will throw it on at some stage. I now have a proper regulator too! It's wired up properly, unlike my strange wiring that's set up fr a Honda one.
Have some dents to get out the new cans too, so will pop the rivets out, smooth the stainless out a bit and rivet them back up. Prob going to need jets for them though...
bugger!
