Enjoy the exceptional South Island roads. Did my 2 trips down there end of last year and hardly wanted to come home again. Hope you manage at least 2 of the passes.
When I'm back on a bike I will be heading South for my first trip away again. The roads are just too good not to.
Ok, made nelson .this morning was freezing riding in the dark in the rain and fog
Good going? apart from the cold and fog.![]()
For a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.Keep an open mind, just dont let your brains fall out.
Not the best of days to go looking at the fog in the Waikato this morning.
When you get to Haast, head south to Jacksons bay and the take the back road to Martins bay / Pike valley and up the Hollyford valley. Bit rough in places but avoids the Queenstown tourist trap
Hope you packed some warm clothes mate, Its colder down here than it is in the Tron haha,
Good luck with your trip
If you stop in Chch long enough the plates will probably shift enough in either direction to save you at least 1ml of gas haha
Ok,just getting ready to leave nelson, I will go to christchurch today via Arthurs pass, after christchurch I will head south, fuck knows where I will stop
I had the pleasure of meeting this delightful young man last night.
He's now ridden off into the West to ride the Buller Gorge, was a bit sad to see that he's riding into a lot of moisture laden clouds and I'd say he'd be getting rather wet about now. I love his plan....just ride and see how far he gets. I hope those nasty keas don't peck at him too much as he rides the breast of the south island.
To those who will get to meet him on his journey, you are in for a treat.
Ride safe young man and it truely was a pleasure to meet you....oh, and do try to pop to the top of the Takaka hill on your way back through, it is a most rewarding ride.
