Ok so tonight was my first hornet swarm ... met in town (after I finished the work thing) .. then off around St helliuers etc .... quick stop for a gas up over botony way ... then around the bays you could say ... Whitford, Clevedon, Lock Up - skid - Maretai whitford then the lovely Momo tea.

Was interesting and i managed to stay upright with the focus on don't go in the water and keep your eyes sorta to the side of the road and not the water.

Thanks Toto and Mike for giving us a hand to get the bike sorted on the road again ...

If I haven't scared ya enough I think I might do the hornet swarm again in the near future.

Cheers for an experience I won't forget.

Agreed, awesome evening and great to see that Nasty recovered well from her ordeal near Maraetai.

Thanks to GI Joe for leading the ride and thanks also to Wanpo and Gale_Wolf for the tips about Takoyaki - 'Always Blow on the Takoyaki. Safer Communities Together' ;-)

    Alls well that ends well?

Glad we are able to have a chuckle about it, but it was most concerning when we stopped at Maraetai and waited ... and waited ... and waited some more, before Interceptor was despatched followed by Gale_wolf a little later to discover the delay!

    We were holding our breath!

So it was very nice to see headlights wending their way towards us! Nasty did very well and remembered to look to where she wanted to go (I still remember her uttering "not the water, not the water!")

Got to chat more about Hornets and everyone was commenting about TOTO's new white Hornet ... is this WhiteQueen or White Princess II?

    Spot ya all next ride!

Oh yeah Wanpo, get your pillion decent gears for the next ride please! (though I am one to talk since our friend Ting rides with the same level of gear! )

You boys are meant to take care of my friends!! and that is what happens when you don't follow night group riding rules of keeping an eye on headlights behind you! :-P Im glad the others were with her though, and good job staying upright kari! Given the moss carpet you said is around maraetai at the moment, we may avoid that this weekend!

glad you were okay kari, and hope the boys didn't talk too much shit on ya first night on the hornet swarm!

I should buy a cheapish generic girl size jacket and gloves, I'm not about to force someone I've hung out with once to buy full motorbike leathers.
There you go Toto, potential sale for you, what you got?

Well miss muffet, before you twist your knickers into a knot - we were following procedure! When I asked Interceptor about where the rest were, he said he saw the headlights behind him, since I was in the lead I can only go by what I see in my mirrors (Wanpo behind me and I did see Interceptor's lights) ... vision is restricted by the twists and turns as you should well know on that stretch!

Maybe next time, I should lead you down some downhill twisties with gravel, at night, in the rain! (oh wait, that's Gremlin's job)

Must be about time Trace came along for another ride, more Hondas are showing up each week, and their dodgy-looking riders keep dissing Suzuki.

Wanpo still hasn't dared to try the Candyman thing though, he's afraid Trace might actually turn up.

Oh and apparently he doesn't want his CBRthou anymore. He just leaves it parked at work with the key still in it. It only briefly crossed my mind to offer it as a $1 reserve on tardme

If you want a jacket for her I have the blue one that Justin borrowed for Kathy. I don't use it so am only keeping it for those in need to use.
